It is kinda silly on one hand. However, I think they are just trying to keep us on the site so therefore they have these rankings to keep you working towards goals. If you have responded to 500 discusions, you deserve to be able to copy and paste. It also lets admin know of your credibility before you just get on and screw something up for someone else!

It is silly but at the same time it does make sense when it comes to spamming. I personally don't do a lot of copy and pasting. The only times I have used it was when a person asks a question and I go searching the internet for the answers. I give a brief description and provide a link for futher reading. It is the only time I do copy and paste feature. I have noticed that alot of people don't use the copy and paste once they hit 500 because they get so use to typing away.

I think that in some ways it's silly but in other ways it is good. I think the reason Mylot does this is to keep people from spamming. I also think they do it to encourage us to post and stay here. Happy Mylotting!
