I went to the Salvation Army to get some jeans which I did find a pair. I was about to leave when I saw the housewares sign. I thought I would just see what they had and I saw a belgian waffle maker. I bought it. ou have to make the batter, clean up everything from the bowl to the mess on the counter to the waffle maker itself. I wouldn't be surprised if someone gave that up because of all the work. I mean, you can go to the store and buy eggos. But you can't put the waffles that I make into the toaster. and they taste twice as good as any frozen waffle. It's great not tpo be lazy.

Hi, marty3888. No, I don't have a waffle iron. I have used one at my grandmother's house though before. I think that it has belonged to my sister. I usually buy frozen waffles for my family to eat. I don't think that I have the patience at times to mix up the batter to make waffles.

You are not alone. I'm sure that's why you see all these frozen waffles and the3y are not bad and so much easier to make. But oh those homemade waffles. They are great.

No, I don't, but I would absolutely love to get one! They don't seem to sell them where I live though, which is really too bad!

Go onto e-bay. There are ones for $75.00 and more, but I found one for $35.99, plus $9.99 shipping and it's brand new. The item number is 350321119767. You'll have fun with it and have great tasting waffles. There are also some that are still bidding for less. I even saw some that the current price was under $20.00, so you can also put waffle iron in the search box

We love my waffles. I make them at least twice a month. I make sour dough pan cake and sour dough waffles. sometimes i add blue berries too. I make enough to freeze and yes we do heat them in the toaster. My waffle maker is the regular kind. I don't like all the preservitives that go in to those eggo waffles. I use whole wheat flour and add some wheat germ and some other grains too.

Hahahahahaha - that different huh?
Well - I got a waffle iron as a house warming gift. Never bothered to take it out and cook with it. I make my own pancakes and all that - but I always end up getting Eggos (like you pointed out). It's easy and it's cheap. From the freezer to the toaster in less than 2 minutes.
Anyways - I'm gonna have to take out the waffle iron this weekend and treat the bf for some chicken and waffles. We'll see what comes out of it, that guy is not too fond of waffles and pancakes except when I make them. We'll see.
Thanks for the tip! Enjoy your waffle iron!

How ironic! I've got a waffle iron that I also bought from the salvation army. We love waffles and pancakes, so we decided that for something like $3 (can't remember exactly how much it cost) we could settle for a waffle iron. We don't use it very often because we both work a lot during the evenings, so usually it's just something quick and easy for dinner, but we do enjoy pulling it out from time to time and cooking.
I agree with you there, there's nothing better than homemade waffles! That goes for a lot of other great homemade food, too.
