well i am just curious about this and wandering...
well, first of all i am happy for them that they will finally getting married, i just don't know when but obviously its sooner!
i have watched on tv when senator mar proposed to korina on wowowee...touching!
then last night i saw on news how the senator go to korina's place to have "pamamanhikan"( oh sorry i can't think of the english term for this...:-( please tell me if you know) and its nice with a Filipiniana theme i guess...
so with all this, we all know that election is coming very fast and senator mar really have plans for running...so what do you think about this? is it part of the strategies? they say the "pamamanhikan" has nothing to do with the coming election and its a private and personal occasion...but how come that there are medias in there covering the event and broadcasting it on nationwide tv?
i am just wandering...how about you? what can you say about this?
thanks and have a nice day!
but anyway my congrats to both of them and best wishes!

exactly. very political! and i dont like it, seems that they are doing it for the sake of running as a President of for Vice-President? and if he marry Korina, of course people will vote for him because Korina is very known for the masses all over the Philippines because of his TV show Rated K!. well thats only my personal opinion.

lol =D When elections are near, everything they do, is just part of promoting themselves to the public.. Marriage is the best thing to ever happen, because it shows the public that he's a family man now, and he's a responsible person.. lol =D
All these little actions are just gimmicks to gain votes when it comes to election.. If not, why would they choose to engage at such a timing, and not earlier or later?? haha =D
Besides, election itself is already quite hectic, and i'm actually surprise to hear that he even had the time to arrange for marriage too?? lol =D

I have to say congratulations to them! After many years and at their age now they are still planning to get married. I think there is some kind of political I guess but it will be their problem in that case. And the two of them are very popular in our country. Our vote still depends in our hands. If we will vote for Mar then it is our choice.

Yeah...I agree with you. It's kinda like a political propaganda.
I don't have anything againts Mar Roxas. It's just that I feel Korina
is being drag to a political arena which she is a willing participant.
Good luck to the two of them. May they have a happy wedding.

We just can't help but relate it to something political because the husband to be is a political figure. Marriage is not a joke and if they gamble marriage for their political plans then they would end up the losers in all aspects if the result isn't what they expected to be. On another point of view, they may think that they may marry eachother anyway some time in the future so why not marry just in time to elevate popularity. Afterall, election here in the Philippines is a popularity contest. *shrugs.

yes...sad to say its more of a popularity contest here!
i just hope that they will not ruin the real essence of marriage...well they looks like they really love each other!
and yes maybe they think that its the perfect time for that thing for it will also help in his political career...( or maybe they think that people will vote for him as a wedding gift! )

i find the engagement and the wedding to suspicious, sensationalized and timed ot the upcoming elections.honestly it is as if korina needs mar roxas powers and mar needs korina's popularity.i do hope i am wrong because i do not want to see another marriage thrown to the trash.

Hi ckyera!
Definitely it is politically motivated. Though they kept denying this, I think Mar Roxas have a better chance of becoming President with Korina Sanchez on his side. I could never think of any reason why they have delayed their marriage even though they were engaged for such a long time now. This publicized proposal and "pamamanhikan" (I could not also think of the English counterpart of this word) were definitely used to enhance the image of Senator Roxas and make him become more popular with the masses.
Have a nice day!

hehehe, i thought i am the only who can't think of the english term for "pamamanhikan"! but anyway...its really a wise move but i hope Filipino people will vote base on what the candidate can do or have done and not just because of popularity... but anyway Mr Palengke or Mr Padyak i think is also a good contender for presidency but i'm still considering the others!
have a nice day & Thanks!

Mar being a senator that is aiming for the presidential post would definitely cast a shadow of of doubt as to his intention why rushing on to marriage at this time of his time when he is making his intentions of running for presidency.
Well let's just hope that he would finally be happy with his decision to marry Korina. And hopefully this is not for political reason that is why he is taking this decision.

Good day.. Well as we all know the election is just around the corner that is if Pandakekak has other plans iin her mind to the tune of chacha. Oh well., back to the topic on hand., who are they kidding? Not part of campaigning? if so why not do the whole thing in private, I mean wooing a Filipina to get her to marry you is a kind of sacred act and since we are religious this kind of thing is usually kept within the family. Why did they need to display it like some movie stars? Simply to get media mileage, admirations and of course possible votes.

its all a sham. lol. c'mon! they both have the time to do these stuff last year or the other year. it is pretty obvious there are doing this for politics because next year will be election! the public is not dumb not to notice and know this! Why do they have to announce it to the whole wide world and even the pamamanhikan..tsk tsk.. they could have it private or something. all plastic.

I think its a strategy of Mar who will be running for President this 2010. As far as i know their relationship was quite before but now that the election is coming they are doing everything just to show their love to each other. And i'm agree that its better that they just do things in their own i mean you dont have to published or let everybody knows whats going on with them. What they did now is just people thinks that it just political. But still i am happy for both of them, they are not young anymore hope their relationship will last forever.

its too political. The solemnity of the said occasion is gone.. I'm sure korina cant hide her excitement that mar will win the presidency and she will become the 1st lady. heheheh. I'm sure they will have their wedding this year so that it will have something to do to the positive turn out of votes with regards to mar's popularity or whatever. whoever is elected as president, they all belong to one rotten big basket.

yap, i also watched this the other day and im happy for them. i think they've been together for almost four years... in addition, since mr padyak is running for presidency in 2010 election, there wedding is in the right time for a perfect publicity for the up coming 2010 election.

Hi! I'm just commenting based on my own views. I think that partly, it has a political aspect to it. Its true, I don't see why the whole papamanhikan has to be aired on tv for everyone to see. Their few interviews on shows and the engagement episode in wowowee is not at all necessary. But the pamamanhikan? I think its too much already. I think theyr happy with each other, but I also think there's a political aspect here. You know Pinoys, the marketing strategy of these people running for senate or what have you is to have an image that they are close to these people -- the image that they can be trusted. So, since Korina Sanchez is exposed on tv, and Wowowee is a known, "trusted" noon time show by the masses, its possible that there's a political intention on these executions :)
