Am I worthless?

It is the thought that making me crazy these days. I just can't get a clear answer myself. So I thought of sharing it here. As you must know by this time I am released from the project I was working. As of now, as I am not changing the company, I needed to find a new project here. Now there is a Resource deployment manager who is supposed to find a project for myself.But she is just doing nothing. whatever I tried finding myself, nothing materialized. Once I was selected but she resisted it as it could prove her inability to do her job. In another case, the project got delayed and so they could not take me, as I was already selected.It is my bad luck.
Now I am getting nothing. whereas people in other skills, less apt are getting projects with ease.
How far can I say just bad luck?
So I think am I really worthless that nobody thinks I am suitable for their project?
Pls share your view on this.

Sorry, not trying to be mean but it is looking to me like they are trying to force you out of this company. Have you ask them if they had problems with the last projects that you worked on. I would sit down with them and tell them to lay it on the line, the truth, so you have a problem with how I handled the last things I worked on, and if so what was the problem. You say that you have been selected for other projects and she has rejected you, it appears to me that she does not either like you, or don't think you can handle the project. How much longer can you go on waiting for something to come about. Do you not need work to live to survive on. If they are going to continue to pass you by, then maybe you should look somewhere else for a job, but I wonder what kind of reference you would get from this company now.

I have worked in various organisations and have met people like the woman you mentioned. She may be the only one who dislikes or hates you, but you are having problems because of her position. Sometimes people higher up do not know what actually is going on because they have delegated certain tasks to select people. Keeping quiet is an option that will probably lead you out of the door.
There are three main options here:
1) Talk with the management about this problem and see whether they believe you or otherwise.
2) Talk with her, preferably with a witness, and ask her to justify her actions for not selecting you.
3) Look for a position in another company. You will have to explain why you are making the application.

I don't think you are worthless at all. I just think you are going through a very touch and hard time right now. I know the job market is not real good right now also. Maybe the right project is out there just waiting for you to have soon.

Maybe the project is not for you. Don't think you are worth less find something that will materialize to you. Instead of feeling bad about it treat it as a challenge. I am like you , there is instances I feel I am worthless because I can't do this and that, but maybe that this and that is really not for me because I don't excel, what I do I research and ask someone who had a better experience to me I listen, list down notes and study. You could only depend on yourself, when instances like that learn to stand alone. People have different moods maybe some other day would be your lucky day.

Don't worry. Things will get better sooner or later, you should not lost confident on yourself. I understand your feeling completely. Trust me, i feel the same way sometimes even i am not working in the company for too long. I am a GM assistant, sometimes i felf i am very important because i keep tracking everything, but sometimes i feel that everyone can do my job, why is this company need me for? Where is my value? I think the most importanct thing for a happy life is you can show your value in life and at work!
Now i am getting better, because i tried to adjust my attitude, i talk to myself that if you believe you are important, then you are important, but take it for granted that the company can't live without you. Adjust yourself a little bit and keep trying! Good luck will come to you!

Get off the pity potty and show what you have, You are actually talking like you are WORTH LESS which is rediculous. You are the only one that can convince yourself of this. In life we have success and we have failure, when we succeed we are on top of the world. What people do not realize is when we fail it is a stepping stone to success.
People are only going to view you as you view yourself you must get past that, hold your head up with pride step on that failure and begin your journey to your new success. Open your mind to fresh new idea's, I find that being quirky can always put a fresh idea on an old thought!

Hi subha, Sometimes we are dogged by bad luck and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. I think you too are having one such phase, but be positive because there will be good days ahead..But why is the lady manager doing what she is doing? why don't you have a talk with her and express your feelings without blaming her, may be just make her aware about your feelings - hopefully she might put in more effort and try to help you get another project for yourself. Sometimes communication can help where other things fail - all the best and hope you are able to get a satisfactory project to work on

No one is worthless, their is something out their for everyone to do... Unfortunately you have not found it yet. Your supervisor may also have a vendita against you for some apparent reason. May be it would be a good idea to either talk to another supervisor or someone above your supervisor to find out what is the deal.. Also it may be a good idea to start looking at different possibilities for a job, but I do not know your situation so I don't know if that is possible. Good luck and chin up, something will come your way.. Patience my friend.. I know its hard, and patience is not one of my best suites either.

Just be patient. Something will be suited for you. I feel that way too sometimes. It doesn't make you worthless at all. It could be many things. Like you said she doesn't want to prove her inability to do her job. Unfortunately, too many people put themselves before others. Nice people get nowhere and get walked all over. Especially in the business world.
