I am not sure about USA, but in country that i am coming from, they have been teaching us about rising and falling of the sea level known as tide. For those who were actualy studying any of branches of science conected to Earth science, this sounds like a bad joke. Have you ever been thinking about this topic? What is causing the changing of the sea level? Is it posible that water could appear or dissapear durig the night or day? By the phisics low of interaction of masses, the object with bigger mass affects the one with the smaller as well as the smaller affects bigger. Thus, if we consider that Earth's tectonic plates are "floating" on astenosphera, the affect of the Moon can cause rising or falling of the plates causing the affect that we usualy call changing of the sea level. What do you think? Have they been theaching us wrong?

Well the new item in the tides is the melting down of the world's ice flows, as far as I have heard this is what concerns all who are worried about our ocean fronted cities. I didn't really understand the point of your discussion?

The point is daily changing of the sea level, not the change caused by melting of the ice masses. You know that during the night the "level of the sea" goes down and during the dat goes up? i am wondering about different oppiniions what could cause that
