Do you allow yourself ample time when you are going somewhere or do you leave

home with just enough time to reach your destination?
I always leave home at least an hour before I am due somewhere. I like to allow myself time in case of maybe a flat tire, traffic or any other delay. My husband on the other hand does not even start getting ready to leave until an hour before he needs to be somewhere. This drives me up a wall, I am the type who does not like to be late, especially if there is no reason to be late.
Church starts for us at 11 in the morning, at 10, my husband will start getting ready, in the meantime, I am already dressed. One morning he finally got downstairs at 10:45, and lo and behold we had a flat tire. Had he started out earlier, he would have had enough time to fix the flat, and we still could have gotten to church on time.
Do you wait until the last minute, or do you give yourself extra time?

I always give myself enough time - maybe extra 15 or so minutes. I don't like being late to anywhere - I think being tardy is a sign of disrespect. Anyway - I also try and consider what might happen along the way.
PLUS - here in CA, everyone has to consider traffic. It's no fun - but being stuck in traffic is not an excuse ( I wouldn't consider it an excuse anyway).

Absolutely, being late shows disrepect. I always take into consideration whether I have to stop for gas, traffic, flat tire etc. When you know you need to be somewhere at a certain time, you should be there, unless something really terrible happens, like a car accident or receive very bad news at the last minute.
Thanks for responding.
