Page View Glitch Again!

I notice a page view glitch, and post the problem in AC. This is my orginal post "I posted 6 articles on 13 June, this is the first one, with 2 comments and 0 page views associatedcontent.com/article/1840789/reading_as_a_hobby_escape_in_a_good.html All the other 5 articles have page views updated. Please check if there is a problem with page view update for this article. There is no problem in the loading of the advertisements, and the two AC writers who left the comments do not use any software to stop the advertisements from loading." Based on the 19 responses, this problem is quite common. One writer, Tamara, had a bad experience, "I had the same thing happen - Jason said those page views that weren't registered were gone forever." Nina Rotz offers a practical advice "Only by monitoring their work daily. Obviously if an article stops at 5, and is stuck at 5 for weeks, there is something wrong. One way to test your articles is by viewing them yourself. And seeing if those views reflect the next day. For those who never check their accounts, or are gone for longer periods of time, it's bad news." sigh, this stupid problem happens to some articles! If the page view glitch happens to all the articles, then everyone will notice and make noise! Please check your all your articles.

Yes, I think it has happened to all of us over the years. Susan S on A.C. Pasco County Food Examiner on examiner.com

Hi Susie, it's really weird, only that particular article faces this problem. Glad to say that AC is trying to solve the problem. I think it's as puzzling to them as to me. After three updates, the big fat 0 is still there. However, on their side, they can see the page view for that particular article adding up.

Is it really possible to test this by viewing your own articles yourself? Doesn't the site recognize that you are the one viewing your own articles? It would seem there would be some measure in place to not count those visits otherwise everyone could generate their own page views.

Hi Canellita, I do not know whether AC blocks the page view impression from same IP address. Maybe can send the whole URL to a friend. Ask her to leave a comment. That is almost a guaranteed two page views. I sent an email to AC as well. They are looking into it. They can see the page views from their end. But I can't see the page view from my Account page. Even after they recache, and update, I still see the big fat 0.

Immediately that I read your discussion I checked my articles and a few of them have page views by their side but the payment shows as zero.I shall ask this in the forum now.

Hi Kalav, no need to ask in forum, I know the reason. The pageview that you see in one column is the total page views since the date of publication. The other colum is the current month page view (on top) and the payment for the current month. Once a new month sets in, the payment will be set to 0, and reflects only current month data. Assuming that you have 2 comments this month, and the page view for this month is 0, then you have a page view glitch. It's tedious to check article by article. I'm quite fortunate that this glitch happens to a new article, otherwise I may not notice till months later.

I am sorry that this is happening to you. I have never had this happen to me before. I always get the right amount of page views for the month. I know this because they are usually a high volume. I dont get the same amount each month, oct. and dec. being the months that I make the most. I have a lot of christmas articles and that is probably why.

Hi Oscar, the technical team from Yahoo is probably far better than the team in Assoicated Content years ago. If Yahoo team cannot solve the technical glitches, then they would lose money paying so much for Associated Content. i just hope that Yahoo can open the subsidiaries of Associated Content in other countries, so that international writers can earn from their articles.
