I bet you find this aggravating...

It seems that Mylot has become a very cool site since I have got on here. Yeah it's pretty cool we all get money from posting topics and all, but don't you just find it aggravating when you find that some of your discussions you posted after a day or two has been left with no responses? I'm saying for some of you random people out there, not saying I have came across that problem....yet. I'd say I would hate it if like say I put time in a good discussion that would be a bit long to read or just like a simple paragraph, then going back to see it's still left at zero. It's like a quiet area with crickets chirping constantly or a tumbleweed crossing the road while the hot air is blowing. Too bad though we can't delete those posts if let that way. Well I thought of it also this way, could be that some might be posting something irrelevant to other people, probably a discussion that might be boring or people that can't relate to. I just thought well maybe if people like added more interests, made their tags a bit more easy for people to find and added a lot more friends then I can see that responses posted can come off pretty quick. I can see where this is going also since the majority of people who do respond back to a topic is something interesting but very easy to understand. I bet some of you wouldn't even want to post a discussion that is too much information for you to handle like I've gone through some discussions where it's just long history of like a person, a museum, about other worlds and us people are so used to discussions like do you like candy, pizza, the birds and trees. Get what I'm saying? So then if you're one of those that have had zero responses on your discussions, probably you should try something a little bit different like changing a title to get people's attention. I usually do that and so far it has been doing me good. Phew! TMI! LOL

i do respond on those topics that are hard to read cause i want learn more about the topic being discussed. it surely takes more time to read them and makes my posting pretty slow. so before i tend to choose only those easy topics. but i learned to value the hard discussions as well that is why i am more into hard discussion at least they are quite entertaining and quite informative too and that is more important to me that posting on those easy discussions. i have noticed too that i feel my topics that are quite hard discussions have only few replies and i would be lucky to get those replies in the first place. sometimes i can call it a miracle for those replies. and when i post about some simple topics. and i will be surprised that i get more responses there. i don't know what will be interesting to the people . but i am happy to have at least 3 responses . as long as the responses are helpful and informative too specially if i am asking some questions that need some immediate answers. i do enjoy reading a lot and i take more time reading actually cause i try to read every line carefully and try to get the meaning when it is not easy to understand the meaning cause of many words that are quite difficult to understand specially if the topics are about politics and history. but i am not much interested on personal experiences of members here if they are quite long specially if they are not much interesting to read. i am more on topics that affects the world in general that interests me. only few personal topics i get interested reading only if they somehow reflects myself or similar to my own experiences.

Very well said. I can say too that since I skim through so many topics, there can be topics that I don't like mainly yeah because it is not of my interest to do so. Then again there are topics that people find interesting and others boring. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Well Joker looking boy good topic. And TMI indeed! But yeah I can relate to what you just said here. There were those times that I did check my new posts and I get bit of annoyed when I still see it left there at zero. LOL I sit there thinking, "Come on people! What are you waiting for? Say something already!" I'm just hyped about number of posts I can get sometimes day by day. As you are aware that if posts are left with no response won't add up to the numbers. I'm not sure if non responsive posts get people paid or maybe just a little of it. And you are aware that each time a post has been replied to, yet more people who post on there then commenting back each time something helpful the better the earnings. And you're true about saying that, adding more interests, adding new friends, but also getting new referrals and combining both friends and referrals to share responses back to discussions that have been posted that way no discussion is left with zero replies. You're doing a good job here and I'm glad you're liking it too.

I have had times, when I used to start a discussion and when I used to check back, I just found it empty. I used to feel quite sad and let down. But then I came to understand the general mindset of the responding category. I came to understand that people tend to look where they find a little amusement and ease. I came to understand that discussions relating to general incidents don't amuse many, also that the topics we chose play a huge role in the popularity game. When we start a discussion, we need to keep in mind that the topic we chose for our discussion must be interesting, and much like authors of books, we must put in effort to keep a discussion simple and yet binding. People tend to relate themselves to almost all bestselling books, its just because of the amount of ease with which they can read that book and the amount of binding power that story has. Take Care

If we all went once a day to 'no responses' and chose just one discussion to respond to then there would be none left. If we all went to the profiles of those on our list and checked out their 'started discussions' once in a while then they would have none either. Friends on here are great for helping out and mine know that they can PM me with a link to any discussion they have with no responses and if I can relate to it I will help out. Seems friends are not always what they should be if there are still users with zero response discussions

Yeah I here what you're saying but then again it does get time consuming to copy past PM messages to friends. I see it that there can be a bit more of a strategy of how topics can attract users to open by and I have to say depending on the title. Like which is more convenient to read? Like my post if I put "Don't you just hate it when you have no response in your discussion?" Yet when people read that they can see it as oh boy here's another nagger or they probably would say whatever. But then the title "I bet you find this aggravating..." Would make more users open it with their curiosity and then find out what the topic is of what I'm saying. And yeah like you said, I personally wouldn't want to go through each profile and see which discussions have not been replied too. That would give me a headache!

I would say so, but then again I can get a bit picky on which topics I want to reply back to. Some of them can be a bit uninteresting to me. As said, usually people respond back to topics that suit their interest.
