Not again, the trackball!

I have a Blackberry curve 8310. Of course, too old to be under warranty. The trackball failed about a month ago, it wouldn't roll all directions. so I got a new one and popped it in. Well, the darn thing's failing again and I don't have the money to get a new one! it's only been a month, so it seems like something's going on. Any suggestions? I have another trackball, but what could be causing the failure?
Planned obsolescence makes me so mad!

Try taking the track ball out & cleaning it. I had similiar problem & since I clean the contact, never had a problem since. I'm assuiming you know how to take out the trackball part out since you've repalced it once already. The whole "silver ring" part comes out.

how do you clean it? yeah. when I replaced it I just kind of popped it out.
