Well, it is all about this:
Yesterday, I logged in, replied to 19 discussions, and started a discussion which has been responded by over 80 mylotters which is indeed a huge number. But just now, I checked my earnings and only to find that I got $0.40 reward. Don't you think it an insult?
Whenever I reply to a discussion, I read both the starter's words as well as other responses carefully to learn about their thinking, then I write down my own. The discussion I started yesterday has got as many as 83 responses, and the number is still growing. But I'm only rewarded with a pathetic amount of $0.40. I'm really outraged. Though most of us are here not just for money, more importantly, we're here to make nice friends and learn from others. I still can't accept this. It seems mylot does not treat each member equally.
What's mylot's evaluating system? What do you think? How would you feel about this?

Is it good? I once made more than $0.40 for 20 posts.

$0.04 in one day is pretty nice? Are you kidding? I know someone who makes as much as $1 a day for 20 responses.

Did you respond to all of the people who posted in your discussion? If you don't respond, then you don't earn any money. I only earn about 1 cent per post, so I think you earned a pretty decent amount. I'm pretty sure mylot's system is fair, and they probably spent a lot of time making sure that it is. I don't usually worry about my day to day earnings. Sometimes, I get excited when a lot of added, but really, it's not a huge deal.

I did responded to nearly 65 of those responses. I totally respect each mylotter who responds to my discussion, but 83 is a huge number, and I think replying 65 is all right.

It all depends on you and if you post comments back to all the ones that responded. I know it sounds like a lot of work, to comment back to that many, but you will find it will be worth it, as you will get more. I have only started a few discussions myself, but I have made sure to post a coomment back to all of them, and I have been rewarded for that as well. It really is only fair that if they are going to respond to your discussion, that you post a comment back to them as well. Also, if you can take the time, I would pick a best response, however that will take you awhile to pick just the right one with all that many responses, but you will make another user happy that you thought enough of them to give them a best response. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

It indeed needs a lot of work, I replied to 60 of them. Now the number of responses has reached 96, I'm happy to see that, and I'll try to comment on each. Thank you!

Actually you won't get paid from others' participation, you only get paid from your own posts. The comments are very important, as others told you. Besides, the quality of each post makes a difference. So most probably you will not get paid from one-sentence comment.

Someone told me that If a discussion you started receives many responses, you'll get some extra credit. I'm not clear about it though. Thanks for reminding once again of the importance of quality posts. I'll pay more attention from now on.
