Yes, definitely the hand washing. Another way is to keep the immune system up. Vitamin C definitely helps. Zinc also boosts the immune system. A good multi-vitamin (not the synthetic kind like centrum) that is made from natural ingredients, every day.

The best way to defend against any illness, even the swine flu, is frequent handwashing, especially after going out in public and before eating. As for it being an airborne virus, yes, it is, but there is little we can do about that. Wearing a mask won't help, as those masks are intended to prevent germs from going out, not coming in, to your system. So the sick people are the ones that should wear the masks. The only way to stop the spread of the swine flu is for the people that do catch it to be conscientious and not go out in public to spread their germs. I guess if you're really worried about your kids, it would be a good idea to try to limit the amount of time that they are out in public, and make sure that they eat a healthy diet and get their vitamins so they will have good resistance. Also make sure they wash their hands often.

Yes, A(H1n1) virus is an airborne disease. However, despite the faqct that it is very infectious, it is a weaker breed of flu virus compared to the ordinary flu. Hygiene is the best way to fight it off. Put on a face mask, disinfect your hands, & try to keep clean.
