I am confused over how some things work here.

I see that when I post a comment to a new discussion that I get a point added to the number next to my name. But when I make a response to someone who responds to my discussions, the number doesn't change. Do we not get paid for all responses whether it is our discussion or not?

You don't get post count additions for commenting on posts. You get them for responding to discussions. Mylot doesn't pay you by how many posts you have. They pay you by your activity and participation. So, the more posts you make in a day, the more money you get. YOu also get paid for uploading photos, commenting on posts and profiles.

Thank you very much. I got confused because someone on another discussion stated it to make it should like you had to comment on peoples comments to you in order to make money off your own discussions. I guess I was just misunderstanding what was being said. I appreciate your help!

I guess the number by your name counts only those that are attributable to reponse or your original posts only. When you respond to a comment they do not count already. But I think you are also get paid with that if your response is quite okay and within their guidelines.

Hello there.. I think you have gotten your answers figured by now. I used to think like that too, but as I observed, those posts that I answer only would the number of discussions next to my name be increased.
Comments aren't taken into account for the numbers, only the number of discussions we answered to others. Hope you are already clear by now.. have a nice day.. ;)

I spent one day only responding to responses and I earned what amounted to about a penny per response. I have yet to spend a day only responding to discussions or starting them to see what my earnings would be like but the number next to your name only changes for new discussion activity.
