what do you do when you cannot sleep?

now im having kinda of amnesia,i tried to count the sheeps or chickens,but it didn't work.i tried to watch TV for a long time, but when i went to bed my eyes were still open.i also tried not to sleep in the afternoon,bur i found it really difficult and will reduce my working efficiency, so that is a dilemma.
have you been sleepless lately?How do you deal with it?

I used to cry myself to sleep at night..hahaha! sounds funny or weird, isnt it? Well, but its true. I really do that when i got trouble to fall asleep. Sometimes, even though im very much sleepy still cant fall asleep. Maybe because theres a lot of things that im thinking.

I am a coffee addict person..So,it happens sometimes with me too..I cannot sleep for a very long time,after going to bed...In those cases I prefer lying and resting...Sometimes it gets too boring and in those times I prefer listening to music or reading magazines....I am really scared if it happened for the whole night... yeah that's what im talking about...sleeplessness for the whole night will be bad for work efficiency and gives me a really short temper for no reason tomorrow.that's why im afraid of insomnia so much.i never try to listen to the music tonight i will have a try.

When I can't sleep, I usually get up and go do something, such as watch television, read a book, go online, or something like that. It usually helps me fall asleep, though not always. Usually, when I can't sleep, it's due to stress. So, I simply try not to think about what's stressing me and do something to help me not think about the stressful situation.

before im also suffering from insomnia and one of my friends told me that i'll wake up early and have a short walk while the sun is not too hot. and it really works. try it.

When I have a lot of stress, I have trouble sleeping. Sometimes soft music helps or reading while lying in bed will calm my mind and let me sleep. If nothing works, I will get up and do something rather than laying in bed tossing and turning. I relax with it and know that when it is good and ready, my body will eventually get the sleep!

I usually find that reading a book for about half an hour helps to calm my mind down enough to get to sleep. There are sleeping pills that you can take, but they are only meant to be used as a temporary measure. Natural remedies also exist, from putting some lavender essential oil on or near your pillow to melatonin (a hormone) tablets. If you are having major problems, you should probably see a doctor.

i tried to read a book for almost two hours,but it really helps little.maybe you can recommend the types of books i should read becoz i may be reading some books which will activate my thoughts furthermore?
i prefer not to take sleeping pills although i heard they really works but i am afraid to suffer some side-effects from them.i think the lavender essential oil will work and i'll try it.

Wait for the sleep and nothing else. If you start thinking on something you will never get a sleep because thought or a chain where there is no ending for this because it is linked with so many other thoughts possible or impossible, happy or sad moments. If you want to sleep concentrate on sleep and sleep alone and don't concentrate on other things. Instead you can get up and read, view or listen to something until you feel like sleeping.

Whenever i have a hard time finding sleep, i play games on my cellphone...sometimes, if playing games does not work, i read books, usually textbooks that i really do not like.It is effective in my case.
