The reasons for this disease? It's caused by a virus, which is a piece of DNA or RNA with proteins. So I don't really get what you mean with reasons. The problem is that such viruses change every year so your body don't have the means to defend you successfully. You can protect yourself from getting sick though by wearing a face mask as well as regularly wash your hands with antiseptic soap. If you don't wear a face mask but have to sneeze or cough it's said that doing so in your armpit would be best... dunno whether this is right though... All in all pay attention to hygiene, be lucky and when you're religious, pray. May you be protected from getting the swine flu!
