Does anyone here work online or offline as a home typist? And where did you apply? Did you have to pay a certain fee to register for a job?

I do believe that such jobs are only available for US residents only. And I know that most of the decently paid typists do special jobs and are required to have a couple of months training in order to ensure the quality of their work.
My cousin is a medical transcriptionist. She had to attend seminars and training before she was certified as one. Now she does her work from home and it does not matter whether she stays in the states or she goes home to the Philippines to be with her family for a while - just as long as she finishes the required job in the specified length of time.
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

Hi heikedear! I dont think that job exists, lol. If it does then they are all taken because just about everyone on mylot is searching form one with no luck. If you are interested in something similar then I suggest microworkers, mtruk, textbroker. They dont pay much but their tasks are easy for the most part and you can generate some decent extra income. Hope this helps and happy mylotting!

As far as online, eLance.com offers a wide range of freelance options and you can apply for a certain amount of jobs at no cost.
For offline options, contact your local newspaper, chamber of commerce, publications; any business that deals with a large amount of typing. Even if they have nothing available now, you could always offer your services on an as-needed basis. I worked for my local newspaper this way many years ago, re-typing press releases, announcements, etc.
