This is a call for a Second Bill of Rights Constitutional Convention.

The Con-Con needs to adopt a process at its beginning of ending the many abuses of power here in the 21st Century. Each proposed abuse of power correction can be voted on. Those that pass will be sent, like the first Bills of Rights, back to the States for ratification. This provision would be best be part of the language of each new State's call.

I don't like to talk or discuss politics that much! I rad the above discuss I not sure what it is all about! This one reason I'm must into politics! I don't understand alot of it! I in some cases don't care to! I also have this problem, with certian people, where they are so stubborn and opinionated about politics, I avoid talking about politics! Theses are reason's when I rarely post on politic discussions!

Sometimes I have a hard time finding anyone who will. Maybe I'll start a discussion on it.
People confuse friends with being friendly. Most of us do not know how to debate, to be civil, to accept that it is okay to "agree to disagree."
Our whole system favors bullies and bullying. My Granddad Rice was born in 1902 and one of my mentors. While he would talk politics with me, generally he would not. He accepted the social rule: Let's talk about anything but religion and politics.
late in his life he agreed with my assessment that powerful people have done this on purpose as a technique in controlling public opinion to favor themselves.
As far as what is the discussion about is this: I have a long list of abuses of power by our Federal Government. Electing new people does little but change the names in the roll call because our system has been fairly well corrupted.
The rich are getting richer, many in the middle class are seeing the humble wealth stripped away as they become poor, and the poor are getting poorer. I believe that this is largely deliberate and should be stopped.
I assess the best way is through our Constitution's provision for a Constitutional Convention. The two who have responded above disagree.

I recall President John Kennedy saying that the World needs to learn how to settle our differences legally instead of militarily.
The United States has thousands of nuclear weapons, then there are chemical, and biological weapons. My BIG QUESTION is: Are you ready for WWIII?

I rather would like to worry about other things like health care refrom and just general things! I have enough to worry about concerning myself then to worry about politics all the time.

NO NO NO NO NO NO! BAD! WAAAAAAY BAD IDEA
Here's why. There are no guidelines for a convention. There is nothing stating an agreament on specific agenda to be on the table is binding, in other words, anything can happen, the entire bill of rights can be removed. Delegates could fight the agenda via the supreme court, but while the court is considering it, the convention still goes on and by the time the court rules on the limitations of the agenda, the entire structure of government, including the very suprme court itself, can be nulled.
Also, there is no guidelines set as to how the delegates for the convention are chosen, the delegates could well end up being congress itself which would make things even worse.
The best thing we can do is continue to fight the problems with in our federal government from the state level. States MUST, absolutely MUST begin standing up for themselves, we MUST begin demanding this of our state governments. Consiquences of non compliance with the constitution by the federal government could be things like states with holding federal tax payments including tobaco tax, liquer tax, even income tax, it could also be thew withdrawl of national guard troops from federal controll, it could be states recalling their congressional members and replacing them with represenatives willing to obey the constitution.
Another possibility is to begin the process of getting enough states to adopt a constitutional amendment to repeal the 16th amenment. Hit the federal government where they feel it the most, in their wallet. A repeal of the 16th amendment would do just that.
*******Again, I warn everyone... a constitutional convention is vastly more dangerous than most people realize.*********

Historicly speaking, we don't have states en mass standing up.....yet...how ever, we do have a growing movement that is exactly that. But lets step back a little bit, we'll start with you outlining for me the process of a constitutional convention, the delegate choosing process and who the delegates as well as the rules governing such a convention. Please outline this for me if you would be so kind?

Xfahctor,
You basically say, let's just keep this Insane Empire corruptly bobbing along.
To single out one obsurd sentence of yours:
"The best thing we can do is continue to fight the problems with in our federal government from the state level."
Yeah? Right?
Why don't you cite some history for us of States correcting Federal Abuses in Power?
I'm all for repealing the 16th Amendment via a Con-con.
Respectfully yours.

P.S. Study your history the First Constitution was proposes to the States. It had to be ratified. That is historical precedence. As soon as this was tried The People instantly were outraged and Demanded and got the promise of The Bill of Rights. They became the first order of Congressional Business. And each of them were considered separately. Originally 10 were rapidly ratified. It took until, the 1980s? for the 11th to be ratified.

But how will you get the Supreme Court or the government to pay any more attention to this Bill of Rights than they do to the first one? Our system of checks and balances has gone out of balance. Perhaps we need to bombard the Supreme Court with constitutional challenges to each and every abuse of power or law that seems in conflict with the Constitution.

Currently the court routinely refuses to hear many petitions.
How about creating criminal consequences for judges who subvert law passed by the People?
Explicitly, the 1st & 2nd Amendments are being violated.
I forget the number, but we are guaranteed the right to privacy. Sonny Bush and his puppet Congress violated this Amendment with the Patriot Act by suspending the requirement of petitioning for a warrant to wire-tap for instance. Secret police just spy on whomever they wanted.
Of course you and I posting here IS being recorded by Big Brother.
Sober up. Tens of millions of Americans Are fed up. It IS time.

People are getting fed up. For the first time ever, I heard talk at a sporting event here of people wondering if a revolution would work. I am 52, had teenage cousins during the sixties...and never had I heard a serious thought given to such a thing, personally.
Your question about how to get them to listen is a good one. I doubt that they would. There is an agenda at work here. And it surpasses the American borders and government. The hidden or shadow government is what I've heard it called...they were successful in getting Europe to let down their borders and put aside age old divisions. Now the Americas are being put through this process...we are being told that to be patriotic is wrong...why? We are being told that we must accept illegal immigrants...why? We are sending all our industry outside our borders...why? The government is making the first steps to control industry...why?
This was all engineered by higher powers....and I think it is to late to try to change the direction this is going...that term...New World Order...they're serious about it.
Sad thing is...back in the 70's....Evangelical Christians were trying to tell people that the book of Revelation was true...a one world government was coming. The media made sure we didn't pay attention. Now that people are paying attention...it's to late.

Debra.
I am a pessimistic optimist. At least this post makes you seem just pessimistic... Here is some optimism for you: Every single advance made in this country like: The original Bill of Rights, freeing Slaves, women's right to vote, no child labor, 40 hour work week, civil rights;
was a first a populist movement. I call the higher power the Puppet Masters and they certainly succeed in keeping their positions due to their wealth.
These people need an army. If the USA has a Con-con they might not like it but you name me a country or group of countries prepared to perpetuate wealthy Caucasian men essentially ruling the world? Cannot be China nor the Arab States nor Russia.
They have a justified confidence that People's memories are short and they can hatch new schemes after the Con-con.
Our job is to smoke the badgers out and end the cycle.
