I was priveledged to be sitting by a gentleman who was asked where he was and he said "four miles" and that was a far cry from where he was .I looked at him when he said it and tried to keep a straight face because I didnt what were his circumstances for lying and didnt want to speculate.
Grnated he could be in an adulterous affair and shouldnt be where he should be or he could be waiting on an eager lover and wa strying to appease her or he could be late for an appointment and was once again giving the person the impression that he was close by.
SO have you ever lied on the phone and waht was your reason for doing ?

I did tell a friend that I felt unwell once as I had so much housework,I did feel awful. She came the next day to see if I needed anything and the house was spot less the carpet and curtains cleaned ,the oven scubbed out, cricky she said I expected to help you out a bit.Which made me feel worse.Next time I will tell the truth.I just said I got up early and had a good old go.I am a useless lier. When I worked at my local pub years ago,a friend rang the pub and asked for her husband.I called out is harry here no he replied. So I said sorry he is not here, she came in the pub and had a right old go at him,she knew I was telling lies.I always said yes after that if they were in there much to their disgust,I told them I was not going to lie for them anymore.

I have had to tell a few lies on the phone before just to get off of it. I hate talking on the phone and I will make up some things sometimes just to get off of it. I tell the truth and that does not work so I have to make things up some of the times.

I don't lie.I either tell you the truth or I don't speak, except for those little polite ones, you know a friend is wearing something that you hate but they like it so you say they look great.Oops, I forgot another time.I will fib so a secret gift can remain a secret.

Dear friend,
I had few times lied on the phone and just to not to make other side hurted and moreover to find a better excuse not hurting the other side of the phone. Moreover if I had said the truth it would effect bitter on other people.

Yes, I did. I was at home last week when I got a call asking for me. I knew somehow from whom the call came from. I told them that she is not present as of the moment. Perhaps they could call again. My reason is the caller was from an insurance company offering me plans. I do not think that it is right but sometimes it is annoying and they are taking too much of my time.

Let’s see...The last time I lied on the phone was to a call centre operator doing a survey. I told her I was on my out of the door when in fact I was in my pyjamas relaxing! A few years ago I lied to my boss and told him I felt sick and wouldn’t be coming in. The reality was that I had been out the night before and I was exhausted. I felt so guilty that I couldn’t sleep when I went back to bed! I am not a good liar and he probably saw through it anyway!

I've lied because I didn't like where a converstation was going. Either getting to personal or it seemed like an argument was about to happen and I don't fight over the phone, or at least try not to. I also sometimes lie about my location to my mom, or others, because if I'm lost or far away, she get worried. If I'm near somewhere she likes, she might ask me to run errands or go to a story she likes and I might be too tired.

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji,
Well, to be very true to myself, I do agree that I have lied at times on telephone, but never under the circustances narrated by you. We never had any love - affairs at all, and also we have NIL room to accomodate such affair hereafter, as we have reached to full satisfaction in our life. But, it is very true, if I recieve a distance call and I am asked to oblize someone, and I am unable to accomplish the same, I do take benifit of that.
May god bless You and have a great time.

yes I have lied on the phone for safety reason. An anonymous caller asking for details regarding this and that then later asked the address and a phone number of a particular person who i know and since I dont have the right just to give numbers or address from my friends to an anonymous person then I told the caller personally I dont know.

Yes, unfortunately I have lied on the phone. It wasn't anything major, but sometimes I get calls saying is someone there, you know, I say no, that is if they don't want to talk to them. Or if I'm not feeling good, and my friends are begging me to hang out with them, I'll tell them I'm busy, or family is over. Telling lies is not the answer, even if it is a tiny one.

Yes...I'm sure i've told someone I'm closer than i am to getting there be it that I'm actually misjudging the distance or actually knowingly telling them that. I've also lied to telemarketers...I let them beleive that I'm younger than 18 and they need to talk to my parents. However just telling them my parents arent here isnt a lie because they arent...they're 5 miles away. I've told them I'm busy (when im not) and cant talk...or that i already did their survey.
I tell them that because i dont want to be called at home and bothered when its my me time or i'm busy with soemthing.
I told man that called repeatedly asking for Barbara or mervin(no clue who the woman or then man was after repeatedly telling him she/he doesnt live here i told him this) that mervin had left me and i was such a bad girlfriend and faked like i was crying. He quit calling after that. Which honestly was my goal because he was waking me up at 2 or 3 am to talk to them and i was sick and tired of the nightly calls for 2 weeks. It took me 2 weeks to get creative enough to come up with a way to get him to leave me alone.

Hi, ronnyb! Yes, I have lied on the phone. I have lied to my cousin and grandmother that my daughter was walking already. But, the truth was, she was not walking yet. I lied because I did not want them to think that something could be wrong with her and that I was not doing my job as a mom. All my other kids walked late, and I did not want them to know that this child was doing the same as well.

Its nothing. Had u ever have a chance to work in Customer service, u would have known whats lying like... LOll
U promise them one thing and deliver them another. One day while I was talking with an irate customer, I was so angry I ask him was I part of that conversation? He was quiet too.
But u know sometimes there is necessity to speak a lie.

I think too often i lie on the phone especially when i am busy or when i login in chat. I don't really like to talk too much in the phone i get tired quickly so when someone calls me i just say someone has come to my place or i say i'm cooking or any lie to escape talking. And of course i give false responses when i'm on chat.
