“Today we are faced with the preeminent fact that, if civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships - the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world, at peace” Franklin D. Roosevelt
This just sums it up for me!

Yea, but nothing extraordinary, with all due respect to Mr.Roosevelt. I love quotes, I like the thought-provoking ones, but love it when they come packed with wit/sarcasm. Some quotes just impress themselves so hard on you that they start functioning as motivational pills; You'll be feeling down, jaded and unmotivated, then you just recall one of these gems and they suddenly instill you with a tinge of motivation out of nowhere. Here's my latest favorite:
For all your days be prepared, and meet them ever alike. When you are the anvil, bear - when you are the hammer, strike. - Edwin Markham

This is most pertinent! I wish we could grow, get wiser and nurture relationships and unconditional love. We are killing ourselves with being conditional in every aspect in life. while the bridge is too small - just an UN. Yes being unconditional will take us a long way!
Loved you quote and that sums up my thoughts as well!

I like this quote. It also made me think that in order to learn to live peacefully, we should learn to trust and let go of our fears for each other. As of now, a lot of us fear those who are with different culture or even religion because we don't know them to the point that we seek to destroy those that we fear because we don't understand them. Yes, indeed, in order for our civilization to survive and we should learn to live together or else we would just destroy each other.

Wonderful quote! Unfortunately I guess they have found out how to cultivate it yet, since that quote was made. Things appear to be getting worse in this world. I know, I'm such a pessimist.

Thanks for sharing this quote. A statement this simple and true speaks to the heart. I think the quote is as relevant today as it was when it was first spoke. Its too bad more nations and world leaders can't seem to understand this simple truth. What a glorious day it will be when all people can live together in a world at peace. It is certainly something to work towards.
