Well we are in a money pinch for the next week or so. We just bought a lawn mower we were not planning on and the money has to be saved from somewhere. The bills had to be payed so we are eating from our pantry. For the next few meals we will be having.
Tonight, Chili over rice. As simple as it sounds, a can of chili over steamed rice with a little cheese on top.
Thursday. Shreadded pork over spinich. My family hates spinich but that is all we have left so that is what we will be eating. I have a roast in the freezer that has been there a while and so the crock pot is the only way to keep in the moisture.
Friday, Manwhich and Tvp. I have a lot of dried TVP (Textured Vegitable Protein) in my pantry and I will be rehydrating it with some onion and carrots and soaking it up in manwhich for flavor. We will have it over bread or rice, what ever the family wants for the night.
Saturday, Chicken tortilla soup. We have a few of these made up in the freezer. Thank heavens for freezer meals. When times get tough this is our sanity.
Sunday is fathers day so we will be eating BBq with the folks, and Monday I can do a small shopping trip.
It is almost easier to plan things out when we are out of choices because we know what we have.

Thank you. We live off our pantry. When life is good we fill it and when things are tight we eat from it. It is like a savings account for us.

I can completely understand being in a money pinch. Seems like every week we have to eat from our pantry. Some good ideas you got!

If my husband is able to come home on time tonight I am going to make butter chicken masala. If not I am just going to cook some noodles, and throw in some left over hamburger meat, some cheese and tomatoe sauce and make a simple little caserole.

Hi moneymommy! Well I dont know what I'm having tonight but I would love to have some taquitos or flautas. You can just buy a box of them at the grocerie store and then make the sides yourself. I always make guacamole sauce with tomatoes, onions, lime and roasted green peppers in a blender. Then I make a hot sauce called 'chile colorado', you can find it in the spices section and all you have to do is boil it until soft, blend it and add your seasonings. I just buy the sour cream and dillute it with a little bit of milk to make it creamy. Then you can take the sauces and pour them over the taquitos to make it look like the Mexican flag. It tastes great, easy and fast to make and great dish for company. It also goes great with rice and beans or a nice salad. Happy Mylotting!

Sh*t on a Shingle...very cheap meal.. Brown hamburg, drain the grease, season with whatever, cover with water, 3 or 4 teaspoons of flour to thicken the water, cook slow until it's done to your statisfaction; placed over Mash potatoes; and I usely add a can of corn to the meal...it's a lazy man's shepherd Pie.

Ahh you had chicken fajitas. That's one of my favorites.. Well what are you in the mood for tonight?
Do you want spagetti, meat loaf, roast, lassagna, stuffed peppers. I don't know what I am having for dinner tonight we had Spagetti today for lunch at the daycare.
Well hope some of my suggestions are good. Take care.

I put a pork roast in my crockpot this morning with a little water. When I get home from work I will pull it apart and add honey bbq sauce then let it cook in the crockpot for another 20 min. YUM! Easy and no skill required. my kind of meal and the kids love it!

Tonight it's black beans and rice, with sour cream on top, sliced tomatoes on the side, and canned corn. Sometimes I make cornbread in addition, but I'm not lighting the oven tonight, it's too warm.
