why is the plastic surgeries??

I think plastic surgery's main application is for people who have suffered severe injuries/deformities or have had to have parts removed through surgery (eg mastectomy or removal of a facial feature) For those reasons, I think its a valid medical procedure. For some people, their appearance is a major issue and I think the media nourishes the feelings of low esteem that prompt people into believing that they need to strive for some idealistic (& society dictated) perfection. I can't honestly say I would never consider it despite the horror stories of botched procedures
