If you're strictly looking for internet provider, I hear verizon fios is actually better. Where I live, both offer 50mp download speed & comcast is little bit cheaper. But the problem with comcast is that the "bandwidth" is shared by people around your block who may have the same service. So the speed of the internet can vary depending on the time of the day you're using it the most. With verizon fios, that "50mbps download" speed is exclusively yours alone. Verizon fios tends to be a bit more expensive but the speed stays constant, based on your computer, not how many of your neighbors are on line at the time. I'm using both of their highest priced & fastest connections as an example but I'm assuming rest of the high speed plans fall under same issues. I knew few people who lived in an apartment complex with one of the faster connection with comcast but they often complained that it was slower than my regular verizon DSL.

I don't like verizon because there DSL service had messed my computer up. And comcast is ok.
As far as cable there is nothing on TV any more.

I have at&t, myself. It used to be cingular but at&t bought them out. This is the brand I've always used and I've never had any problems with it. I recently got a new cell phone. I had called at&t about my fast access DSL and the girl I talked to said that my cell phone was eligible for an upgrade. She said that I could get it free of charge for a limited time. I took advantage of that! I can take pictures and make videos with this cell phone and I'm really proud of it. Kathy.

I have Verizon...and am pretty satisfied with it... Maybe not as fast as Comcast claims they are. One thing that helped me make this decision: If I ever wanted to combine all 3 - TV, Phone, and Computer: under Comcast not only will my cable for the TV go out during a power outage caused by a storm, but my phone will too, because it will be all under Comcast. With Verizon, during a storm, the power may go out for my computer and TV, but I will still have my phone. This happened this past winter, we had a severe ice storm...all the cable went out all around the town, and the electricity did too....but I still had my phone. My girlfriend, who has comcast for all 3, had no phone service for as long as the cable was out.
