Hi kalaga, this is not so popular in my place lol so here my wife or daughter in laws don't know how to cook asparagus, , more over in the markets you can't buy fresh variety of this, only dried, people make powder and eat as medicines, some make it tender by steaming next cook, it is supposed to cure cancer Thanks for sharing Cheers. God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

Hi. kalaga. I hope to hear of the many ways of cooking this hearty vegetable, since I don't have my own personal way of cooking it. I love the way that many have cooked it by grilling it onto the grill.

This is one vegetable I just could never even try, I just didn't like the look of it but I went to a restaurant recently and I ordered the salmon dish which was a piece of Salmon sitting on a bed of asparagus bit because I couldn't see the heads I thought they were beans so I cut into one and thought it was delicious, but I think it depends on what goes with it, as this dish had orange sprinkled on it or an organge type sauce, it was very nice.

I just cook mine with a little bit of butter and then season it with a little pepper and salt. I really like it that way. It is really easy to over cook and ruin though.

The traditional way to cook asparagus is to chop the woody ends off and they steam them, preferably upright with the tips at the top, then serve with melted butter. I actually prefer them though with rock salt and lemon juice and olive oil over them then lightly grilled. The wild asparagus which grows here I don't like as much and people tend to put it in soups or pies, sometimes the spanish kind of asparagus is imported but at a ridiculously expensive price.
