And the hits keep on coming. Here is a serial killer in the making an 18 year old boy has been arrested for killing 19 plus neighborhood cats. He is facing charges of 19 counts of animal cruelty, four counts of burglary and 19 counts of improper disposing of an animal's body. This kid is dangerous and may have led a ring of kids who killed the cats. I hope they throw the book at him. You can read the whole story here http://www.justnews.com/news/19747620/detail.html

I hope the lock him up for a long time. Dont serial killers start with pets? I think i remember reading something about that being a sign to know that someone will be a serial killer or maybe it was a movie I watched. How can someone do that to a poor defensive cat

A lot of people don't like cats and think it is okay to abuse them. I don't know why. They are such wonderful animals. I mean just try and let someone hurt my furbabies. I have also heard that serial killers start with pets. This should be a clear sign to lock this boy up.

I agree. I would give out harsher punishments for the hurting of animals. Its just not right that people get off as easy as they do.

I read somewhere that almost everyone in prison for a violent crime abused animals as a child. Let's lock this young adult up with his kind for a very long time. If it was up to me he'd be tortured then linched, but the bad guys are lucky I'm not in charge.

He's out on bail? I'm sure his entire neighborhood is complaining about that--in their eyes, it's probably like letting an axe murderer back onto the streets.

I think they are going to get him a physiological evaluation before the trial. He is sick and they either need to put him in a mental hospital or jail.

What's this teen. He's 18. That's a legal adult. The headline using the word "teen" makes people think he's a minor. I hope they throw the book at him. With all this publicity he will have a very hard stay in prison if he gets convicted. He will be watching his butt all the time,as will the other prisoners, because it will get used and abused.

Well, teen is how they described him in the original news piece I read. I hope they charge him as an adult and give him as much time as possible. I really don't think its safe having him out on the streets.

The news article used the word teen to make it seem like a kid. I know you used the word from the headline. It's a her. A young woman who did this. She's a total psychopath and needs to be locked up with all the others psychos who have no respect for life.

There are a lot of upset and grieving pet owners there waiting for justice to be done. Makes me glad I keep my kittens inside.

This is terrible. when i was a little boy, i had 2 cats.... and to think of someone killing 19??? why on earth does he feel the need to kill cats?? people who kill animals as kids/teens are shown too more likely grow up and become serial killers... i hope they lock this kid away for a long time..

I've been hearing about this story in the news for a while...Since they started noticing there was a serial cat killer on the loose. His Dad claims that there is no way his son would do such a thing. I think bail was set at about $250 thousand. I'm guessing they wouldn't have arrested him if they didn't have some convincing proof, but he does have a right to a trial. It'd definitely sick and twisted, but I don't know if we can assume it means he'd become a killer of humans. I know there are statistics that show that people who torture animals are more likely to be violent toward humans, but we can't "know" how he will turn out. If he did it, he should get jail time, but he clearly needs counseling too. I just can't be so quick to judge young people who do bad things without knowing how they got the way they are. I'm not saying they shouldn't be punished, of course they should, but I think a persons life circumstances need to be taken into consideration.

I do believe they should do an physiological evaluation to see if he should and can stand trial. I believe in rehabilitating people if we can, but sometimes in extreme cases that just doesn't work.

I've read this story before, but it's just as sad as the first time. I really hope they have the right kid. Wouldn't it be horrible to be labeled as a killer in your neighborhood when you were really innocent? That being said, I hope the cat slaying stops. I would be horrified if something happened to my neighbors' cats and I would be very hesitant to let any of my pets out in the yard after this incident.

Oh my goodness! In my opinion that i bet that he's a psycho for sure. But what is his clear reason of doing such things? What are the factors that made him do those gruesome killings to these innocent cats? The affected community shouldn't be relieved just yet because the police needs to investigate further if the suspect has other accomplices of this feline manslaughter.

The teen was arranged yesterday, but I hear he is out on bail. It has really dismayed the community because its someone they know and would never suspect. They also do think he led a ring of teens that committed the crimes. I guess we will just have to watch and see how this plays out.
