It started last jan, 2009. We thought we will never be affected by this global economic problem because every company in the US will outsource their jobs for them to save a lot of money. But then february came and one of our biggest account pulled out from us. We still have two more accounts but not as big as the other one and hard to admit we are a little bit shaky. Until last month, our company decided to remove our basic pay, we will just be paid per guest. So we are now in commission basis. But every week, our accounts are being pulled out. Our boss tried to look for another account, and luckily he still found one but its the hardest account we ever have. Before we are 20 and every month we lose agents until today we are only three left. It is a pity, we been here for 2 years, we been tru ups and downs but this time, we have to think of our family first before the company. Im still here because i still need to get what is due to me. Once i leave this company i can never get the money that they owe me. What about you? Is it really hard to evereybody? How was you at work?

I work at a grocery store. People are cutting back on luxury items and using more coupons than they used to (but we get reimbursed for the face value by the manufacturers anyway), but they still need food. So we're not being hit very hard at all. There are always slow periods in the year and extremely busy periods... so our hours tend to be adjusted accordingly, but other than that we're not doing bad.

well you are still lucky because you still have your job and you still get paycheck at the end of the month. i dont know if i can say i am lucky because i dont have basic pay so technically its like i dont have work because i dont get my paycheck at the end of the month. i know this is a cycle, actually last year it happen to us but its not as bad as this. it happen to us but the economy that year is not bad, its only our company thats why we recover after few months. i just hope that i can easily find a job that well compensate me better than the last.

With the fact that this is going to affect the world, it is going to make a difference in what industry you work or own, whether or not how much yours will be affected. Now that to cross to Canada you have to have a passport, that is going to affect Canada's Tourism. Anything that is a Want, extra's are going to be hit the hardest. By Christmas they felt the last coulple of years were bad, this coming christmas is going to be even worse. Depending on how you look at it. Maybe we can get the actual meaning of Christmas back around the world, instead of the commericialized one. Anyways, its happening all over no matter the industry right now, all cut backs, shut downs, lay offs, closings. Some days are very hard to get through here, I hope that we as a world can get this fixed so that there is a chance once again to be able to live without the fear of loosing everything at each turn. Like Utilities going up AGAIN, Phone bill wanting a raise in our bills, etc etc etc. Where is it going, How long, who knows for sure..... Looks more of a DEPRESSION......

thats what i said to everybody i talked about global economic problem. it started last christmas and we havent really feel the effect of that problem but thru the days, little by little it will affect us most especially us from third word country. well, for one most of our businesses here are from the US, Canada and some countries from asia and other part of the world. So now we really feel the effect of this economic problem. I just hope that it will not last until december, i just hope that this will change a bit in a few months from now. And later on we can recover from this loses.

this has been gradually sliding down for the US for over a year, so in my opinion it is going to take more than a few months to get this to turn around.. heres hoping though.
