Hello Mylotters, have anybody here tried the cabbage soup diet? I"ve always said that I wanted to try it but then for some reason I back out of it. So who has tried it and what all did you have to put in it to make it a soup. Also did you find it to be effective or do you think you just lost a lot of water weight? Thanks for replying.

No, I've never tried it...but when you find out, can you forward the information on to me? I love Cabage, and my mom used to make Cabage soup, but all I remember was Cabage, and tomatoes were in it...I don't know what else.

i have tried it... it's called the fat burning soup. a diet for seven days only. i had it for two months. i would add beef cubes in it, tomatoes, onions, celery. my family even like the taste on how i cooked it, they add it to their rice meal as their soup too, and i would eat that cabbage soup alone without rice. it was really effective, i have lost some weight, so i continued it for a long time than it was supposed to be. i had overused it, and i think it was one cause i have thyroid problem now.

Cabbage soup diet........... Hello my friend, thanks for your comment. I guess when they say a person should try it only for a little while that is what they really mean. Sorry to hear that you have thyroid problems. Keep praying about the matter and hopefully it will clear up one day. Also thanks for sharing some of your ingredients on the cabbage soup diet. I wonder if you used the whole cabbage, did you cut it up in very small pieces or not? I supposed a person could probably use any kind of ingredients in it that they wanted to use. But supposedly the main ingredients is the cayenne pepper. That is what get the metabolism revved up. But I didn't happen to see you mention that in your diet. Anyhow leaving out the rice was probably a good idea because white rice add no nutritional benefits to our diets. And wheat rice probably would have been okay but then again for trying to cut the calories you'd want to go as lean as possible I would imagine? Anyhow if you happen to come across any more of the ingredients please keep me informed. I would like to try it out but not for a long time. Happy Mylot!

I tried it, as did my entire family over a decade ago. Since there are days when we can eat things as fruit or meat, the water quotient is not as big of a deal I think. I did lose weight, but it wasn't working for me. My dad probably did the best on it. His energy didn't flag at all. But mine did, as did my mothers. My sister didn't like cabbage, so she eventually quit just because of that.

I haven't ever went on the cabbage soup diet. I think it is better to eat a balanced diet when trying to lose weight. By just eating cabbage soup I think you would depriving your body of other nutrients that it needs. I have tried cabbage soup and I found it very flavorable but I'm a BIG fan of cabbage, I could eat it with just about every meal. If you want to lose weight though, then just put the cabbage soup in your diet but do it in a balanced way with your other food. Also, water and exercise are a big part of a weight loss program. Good luck!

Cabbage soup diet......... Hello Single mommy, thanks for your advice, I may just have to try it as you had spoken of. It's just that I have about four cabbage around here and I don't know what else to do with them. I asked the hubby to bring me a lettuce from the store and he comes back with cabbage, now I'm stuck here trying to figure out what to do with them. Thanks for responding it was very good advice! Happy mylot.

My friend - I have tried this diet in the past....To be honest, the first couple of days is okay..but then by mid-week, you will start getting really tired of eating cabbage all the time...trust me! Sure you will lose some weight, but trust me when I say that the minute you start eating normal meals, even if they are small servings, you will start putting the weight back on. so if you want short term result, then go ahead - but I don't recommend it for the long haul. Good luck my friend.

cabbage soup diet........... Okay my friend, thank you very much for sharing that. You are right, the best way to loose weight is to make lifestyle changes. Even if they are only small steps like not going to the fridge at night to eat late, is a good one to do. Also putting your fork or spoon down after every bit. All of these things we must be mindful of and if we continue doing it then it will become a habit and finally it will result in weight loss. Well I don't know about others but I've always been the type that enjoy doing things by the book. When it comes to weight loss I want to do it the healthiest way possible and so that I don't wind up getting sick. So just cutting back on my regular meals I think is going to work for me. Also I'm thinking about going vegetarian during the weekdays and then putting some meat back into my diet on the weekend, that way I think I will feel better health wise and not be feeling all bloated from eating meat every single day. Yes I think this way will work very well for me my friend. Anyhow, you take care and thanks again for responding. Happy mylot

Hi Citychic, I have tried the cabbage soup diet 3 years ago, but I only lasted a week. At first the taste of the soup didn't bother me. At the end of the required time I was starving, but wanted to vomit every time I even looked at the soup. I lost 3 pounds, but also lost all my good mood. It took me some time to feel balanced again.

Cabbage soup diet......... Hello katka, that sounded pretty serious the changes that the cabbage soup diet took you through. I guess it's true what they say in that everything isn't for everybody. Maybe you should do like one of the other responsers mentioned and just have a balanced meal then add the cabbage soup diet to the balanced meal. Perhaps if you ate the cabbage soup first then had your main meal you might not eat as much??? This is just an idea and not something I've personally tried yet....thanks for responding and best of luck to you. YOu must find what will work best for you and stick to it. That is how best results are achieved. I know what it takes to motivate me to loose weight. But my method may not work for anyone else. Anyhow I want to loose my weight and get back down to around 130 the way that I used to be. Then I will go and look up one of my old ex's and see what he is looking like now and see if he is happily married or not? If not then he and I might just decide to have a cabbage soup drinking party together, Partly joking and partly serious Anyhow do what it takes to work for you Kataka, take care and thanks for responding.
