Who should pay for dinner if a guy asked you out on a date?

I am a very independent person so when I let anyone take me to dinner it is always on the proviso before I accept that I return on it, I have always been like this I just don't belienve men in these times of equality and all shoulf have to be the ones always paying...i think we should all give and take...

If the guy invited me, he should pay. If he's not willing to pay for everything, it would be better for him to just ask me to walk in the park. That way he won't appear cheap in my eyes. That's just my opinion. sorry.
But if I really like the guy and he has no money and I want to eat out, I'll tell him from the start that I will pay for our dinner. But that has never happened. Guys usually pay and they don't want to split either.
