I saw you last night watching the rainbow scream Twisting and turning amidst a very bad dream I longed to hold you, to calm you down To see a smile on your face, instead of a frown To keep you warm, hold you safe, to kiss your brow Whispering things you needed to know I wanted to kiss you, to let you feel my charm and hold you tight away from harm I loned to pull your blanket around you tight To stop the hauntings and scares of the night To cool you when warm, to heat you when cold To make you feel better, stronger and bold To see your beautiful face screwed up against your fears Made me want to touch you, to pull you near One day you'll come to me for security and peace Only then will your troubled nighttimes cease But for now all I can do is watch as you scream out loud Fighting against the blackening cloud.
