Ciao is closing?

I signed into Ciao this morning to check on my balance, accept friends, and rate a couple reviews, which I do every morning, and my inbox is full of messages from my friends about how Ciao is closing. This is the first I'd heard of it. Such a shame too, I'd finally gotten my payments all straightened out and yesterday finally recieved my second payment from them. I'm nearing another payout already.
Did you hear about this? Do you know when they will finally be closing the site? Will we get our final payments or is that wishful thinking?

Yes unfortunately they are closing. They have succumbed to the cheaters. 
I just submitted a new discussion on this, lol.
They do say they will send you your final payment but as of yesterday you cannot earn any more money there. 
You need to back up your reviews, as you will not be able to log in after June 30, 2009.
I wrote a review yesterday there about other sites to write at, if you want to see it my user name is K466.

I just wrote a new review yesterday. Most of my reviews are backed up on Squidoo, at least the ones that are any good.

That's such a shame, because as of this morning my balance was $4.80, so that means I won't get my last payment. I was thinking of trying Dooyoo or whatever that site is, I've heard Ciao users talking about it. I don't know though, I'm not overly fond of writing reviews all the time.

Scams turned a perfectly good site around. I had all but forgotten about it, and hadn't been on in a while. It is a shame.

Is CIAO Surveys section which is now a part of Greenfield Online is also getting closed?

Damn, I just joined this a month ago :/
Stupid asian cheaters, they want to earn a few bux more but hurt the business and in the end many asian countries are banned as a result and the business can be shut down so that honest members lose from this :/

from what i understand it was over taken by scam artists that stole other peoples work and submitted as theirs. such a shame for the rest of us.

That is very sad to hear. I don't post there that often but I know it is a very reputable site which consistently paid out to people who write excellent reviews.
It seems that such an ending is the norm for paid sites, be it forums or review sites. There are always people who are thinking hard about gaming the system and the fact that we are in the midst of the worst recession doesn't help too.
Well, I guess the consolation is that mylot is going strong. :)

I haven't been on the site for a while and totally forgot about it. I did get an email stating they were intergrating with Bing under Shopping. I am sure you hear of it on tv. Beginning the first of July the site will not be available on its old domain. So to keep doing reviews and stuff you will have to sign up with live.com since bing is part of the microsoft community.
