The playoffs the last season was awesome, many teams stepped up beyond their limits from the regular season. Who would expect that Cleveland would fall to the Orlando Magic with that smooth plays? The Lakers are doubted if they can make it to the finals even if the playoffs hasn't started yet. So many things are unpredictable like what they say "the ball is round". Now, who will be suitable enough for you to be the NBA Champs for this coming season? I would pick the LA Lakers. lol

Now that the Cleveland Cavaliers have Shaquille O'Neal expect them to be in the NBA finals next and be the 2009-2010 Champions! I expect the Los Angeles lakers will be in the finals against the Cavs! Shaq took the Lakers to three straight championships! Now Shaq will do that with the Cavs and LeBron James!

My choices are Magic will back in finals, Cavs resurrection, Jazz healthiness will become strong. Hawks are good too with the 76rs. Phoenix will be in the playoffs. Nuggets will be back, Rockets more improve. Clippers get lucky with Thunders and Grizzlies. Raptors 7-or-8th.

I think it is way too early to pick next year's winner because there are a whole lot of things that could change with the off season. Two seasons ago there were two trades that changed the landscape completely. Those two trades were Kevin Garnett to the Celtics and Pau Gasol to the Lakers. Barring some earth shaking trades like that, here's my take on next years contenders.
Lakers. This team has a shot at repeating. What they need to do to repeat is get significant improvement out of Bynum and maybe a little more out of the bench especially backing up Fisher. I like Fisher but I think opposing teams are going to be keying on him all season long. I don't know how many more campaigns like this year he has left in him. Don't dare trade that guy though because they need him to keep Kobe balanced.
Nuggets. If they want to unseat the Lakers, they need to do something to get stronger in the paint. Don't ask me what. I don't know.
Rockets. This team needs to find a way to keep it's star from getting hurt. That isn't going to happen. Sorry to any Rockets fans I writing them off right now.
Magic. Howard needs to learn a finesse game and learn how to make his free throws count. If he can do that they will take it all.
Celtics. Kevin Garnett is their key. With him back they have a chance to go all the way. They might have had a real chance this year had he not gone down with an injury.
Cavaliers. The have the same problem the Nuggets have. They need to get better in the paint. I'm not sure how they should do that. I do know that getting Shaq isn't it.
Who do I think will win it all? I think it will be the Lakers again if the balance of power in the league stays basically the same.
