Love happens only once or it can happen multiple times?

First loves are fun and exciting but what if it was in jr. high? That person is still my friend, but love CAN happen more than once in a lifetime. Think about the person who has had a spouse to die and that spouse was their world. Can they not love again? I have a friend who this was her story. She found a wonderful man who loved and cared for her and she fell in love with him - TRUE love - AGAIN and got married for the 2nd time. She says she can't think about going back to the first marriage because of the place she is at now. She TRULY loved(s) both men, but life is what it is now and she leaves that whole situation in God's hands. I believe love can happen more than once in a lifetime, but it depends on the heart involved. Is it open and willing to love another with complete abandon? Or, will it forever hold on to their first love?

I think first loves are special. But I disagree with everyone that you only love once. I think that you can love more than one person through your life. Truly love them. But love them in different ways, for different reasons. I will always treasure and love my first love. We were together for 5 years, but just grew up and apart. Didn't stop loving each other just didn't love each other the way I imagined we would end up together. And my current boyfriend I have been with for 4 years, and I love him with everything I have. He is the most amazing man I could have ever asked for. While there may be only one TRUE love. I don't think you can only love 1 person. I think you can love as many people as you love, your heart decides that not you or your brain. You can't help who you love, it's out of your control.

True love is unique. It happens only once. The rest is mere a compromise.
