"Voice of Truth"

The very first song I heard by Casting Crowns, was "Who Am I?" They sung it during worship one morning, at a church I used to attend. The feelings I felt in my heart when I heard this song, were overwhelming. I cried, indeed. Not long after that, I bought all of their cds. This song became my theme song. I just loved it. I even stopped listening to most of the music I was listening to, because all of a sudden hearing about Jesus in a song was alot better than anything else! Unfortunately, I stopped going to church a few mos later. After alot of ups and downs and down and out moments, I returned back to God. In November, I started going to a non denominational church. My journey continues there still to this day. Now, the song, "Voice of Truth" is my theme song. I have always been quiet and shy, that's just who I am. I never liked standing in front of anyone and talking. A month or so ago, the pastor's wife asked me to be Youth Leader. That would include me teaching these kids about God and the things about God. I absolutely love talking about God, and I love those kids too death, but something about standing up in front of them, or all the focus on me, scared me. I told her though, that I'd do it, but to give me some time. One night, I was reading a book I had recently bought called, "Passion For Jesus" by Mike Bickle. He was talking about the book of the bible, Song of Solomon, or to most its Song of Songs. He talked also about comfort zones. Song of Solomon is about Solomon and his bride, but it also gives us a picture of how Jesus sees us as His beloved bride. I kept reading, and it described how the Bridegroom wanted for His bride to follow Him, but she pulled away at first. She wanted to stay in her comfort zone. This gave me total goosebumps! The song Voice of Truth came to my head, and I began to sing it. The lyrics if you haven't heard it go like this, "Oh what I would do to have the kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat and onto the crashing waves, to step out of my comfort zone to the realm of the unknown where Jesus is, and He's holding out His hand, but the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me, reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed, the waves they keep on telling me time and time again, boy you'll never win, you'll never win, but the voice of truth, tells me a different story, the voice of truth says do not be afraid, the voice of truth says this is for my glory, out of all the voices calling out to me, I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth!" Of course its longer, but I just really love that song. Jesus believes in us. We don't have to go through anything alone. Whatever I do with those kids as far as teaching goes, I want Jesus to live through me. I'll listen to the Voice of Truth and encourage you to listen to it as well!

You are so very special to God, and never forget that. I'm thankful for songs that cont. to remind us of that very fact about Jesus, that He loves us so much He'd take all our sins to the cross, because He loved us. Before the foundations of the earth, we were on His mind, can you imagine? We weren't even born yet! LOL.

The band is totally "Led by God". My family attended one of their concerts about a year ago and you could sense and feel God everywhere in the arena. The song that I often play when I am feeling down is "East from the West". I love Casting Crowns, they have an awesome ministry and their musical ability and talent is excellent. Vocals and lyrics are amazing.. Thanks for your post...

I seriously don't know of any other music that is more life filled or heart felt than christian music. Especially their's!!! Thank you for your comment :) Blessings to you and your family :)

Yes, this song is truly Inspirational and one of my favorites of theirs even though personally I love a lot of their songs. But this song does speak Volumes when you listen too it, and could be a Good witnessing reaching to the lost song as well.
