I love the beach. Even though I never get in the water and can't swim - I still love the beach. I live in Los Angeles area when I go to the beach it just brings so much peace and calm. I love go on a sunny day and just watch all the families, kids, and their dogs, run into the water, laughing and playing. This is when i feel many of them forget about life's problems. I go to the beach so I can have time alone to just enjoy the quiet. What gives you peace? Where is that one place you can just forget about everything and just relax?

I find peace just by being home ALONE and play classical music. Music has that unbelievable power to put me at ease and my muscles relaxed. One thing that I also discovered that I really like is when I go to far away places. I would sit by the window and just look at the view as I travel. By the way, I should not be the one driving. I would take a deep breath and just feel the wind blows on my face.

I love beach but its too noisy for me to give me peace of mind, I too cannot swim but i like to play on the water. When ever i want peace of mind i ride to a farm area where its peaceful and green, i usually take a book with me and write something or read something all alone or with my boy friend. I like the cool fresh wind blowing and i usually lay down looking up the sky and recollecting good or bad memories.

Beach and of course nature. I love to go to our farm where it is very fresh and the air is blowing in your face. I love also to go to beach where there are only few people. I don't like to go to a beach where there are many people. I want an exotic beach where you can meditate and concentrate. lol

same here, i love the beach. i know how to swim but im not that expert. i love to just be in the water or just sit at the seashore. it makes me so peaceful. my dreams is to have a house near lake or sea. as long as i can swim in the water and can see the sunrise or the sunset.
sea makes me so relaxed and i just feel that the feeling of emptiness is not there anymore. and especially swimming is the best exercise.

Back in college, i used to go play in the soccer field especially during stressful days. Some people would rather go straight home and rest but every time i go on the field and play (with my teammates), i feel relieved from stress. After the game, I may feel physically tired but all the day's stress is gone!
But the most relaxing and fulfilling activity for me is scuba diving. It's so peaceful down there. It's like you're in a completely different world. Contrary to many beliefs, it's not really as dangerous as other extreme activities/give me a ports. All you need is presence of mind and to know (and follow) all necessary precautions. It's a very rewarding activity. In a way, it gives you a different perspective in things. For me, it's a great relaxation and i get a clear head afterward.

I find peace whenever I spend time with my one year old niece.I would just play along with her, teach her nursery songs, lul' her to sleep or talk to her without knowing if she understands what I am saying or not. The childs heart and mind , I guess is the most peaceful and happiest place on Earth, so i try to spend more time with children. It gives me a certain peace and happiness I do not get when minggling with adults.

I think i am a lot like you! I like waters! Lake, river, beach of course! From your discurption, it's not that beach that give you peace but being together with your loved ones, being with familys. Right? That's nice, i think family is what we fight for our life, isn't it? Cheers!

I totally agree with you, going to beaches brings peace to our minds and lets it wander away from the troubles and anxiety of life, getting your mind away from the daily tensions is what you need to bring peace to life and going to a beach does it all, well to me music also brings peace, and sometimes also watching a feel good realistic movie...

I have a beautiful place where I go on vacation every year, It in a village in the middle of the wood... it is in calabria and it is called sila, it is a very beautiful and peaceful place... there are 22 wood houses, all made of wood! the kitchen, the bedrooms and the floor. When i go there i feel so good! In the morning, when i wake up, i can hear the singing of the birds and I can see the squirrel on the trees. At the evening I stay at the window and arond me there are the trees and the absolutely silence... And if i want to have fun there is the disco, the restaurant and other thing...

I have yet to visit a beach but you've inspired me. Maybe it's the fact that I cannot sit still or reflect on that type of peace long enough to experience calm. Being a mid-western girl affords me little opportunity for that kind of a stress reliever but since the winters here about do me in - it's time for change! I can just imagine you're serenity and healthy complexion.
My idea of peace is walking alone in nature. I can't sit still for very long unless I am reading or watching a fire or sunset - also peaceful. I have to walk and reflect on things.
Most of all my peace comes from the understanding and fellowship I have at a support group. The notion that I am not along but very loved and cared about. I read daily inspirational devotions that lift me up and remind me of peace that is always there.

Peace in my world is being home and not having any major stresses, my home is my world and after a few years of major stresses and losses of family and friends I just find being home without any hassles my peace.

I love the beach too, just to walk around and take
in the scenery. I do not get to go as much now as
I did years ago. This still is a peaceful place for
me.
I also like the mountains in the summer time, I love
the scenery there too. I love to take nature walks.
I find peace in the woods too.
Have a happy day.

I am 52 years old and living in New Mexico and after a vacation to Puerto Rico I never realized how important it was for me to live near water or a beach. I went to 3 different beaches while on vacation and enjoyed in so much. It was relaxing and so peaceful. I can't swim but I do go into the water it was just so refreshing I now know being in NM is not the right place for me. I only moved here a few years ago and I'm hoping to move to PR by next year sometime. Before NM I lived in NY also surrounded by water living on Staten Island. So yes the beach gives me peace within my soul. When I move to PR I hope to be going at least once a week to the beach. I can't wait!

I am the same. Sitting on the beach and watching the waves crash onto the shore makes me peaceful and somehow my troubles seem to be insignificant. Unfortunately since I moved to NC I am now 2 hours from a coastal beach tho my kids did find a lake beach last week. I am going to check that out soon.

Going to the beach is also my haven and place of relaxation. I also live in SoCal, but I usually go to Huntington Beach or San Clemente. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean breeze is priceless. Hearing nearby kids playing and laughing is also makes me happy...and I don't even have kids! Also, just staring out into the ocean and realizing that THIS is nature...THIS is 70% of our planet...it just gives you the chills. It allows you to put you in your place and see that you're just a teeny tiny part of the world.
