Celibate = being single?

I don't think being single is the same condition with celibate. Being single is a condition where you are not occupied yet, not bound in a relationship but you're open to any possibilities. But celibate is a statement and or a condition where you decided not to be involved in a relationship forever, not now not ever. What do you think?
