I am in a terrible position these days.
It seems no matter how hard I work and how much effort I put on by job I am still looked upon as "not relevant" .
It seems no matter how large a company is or how many employees are there being popular is more important than being smart.
There certain events and certain people that can't be controlled by a regular person.
But then I am not a regular person.
My lotters, my dear friends
tell me why a person with high concentration capability, perfectionist, reffered as a fun to be with character, always amiable and always nice no matter what, with an IQ of 170 -I should say over average ,not at all bad looking is crushed psychologically every day by the behavior of the people around.
What can possibly be the matter?
Have anyone of you been in this situation?
I really need your advice.
Thanks

Perhaps you are trying too hard, to be the fun character. Corporations are not looking for fun and nice, most times they are looking for advancement. What is going to make them grow. And, what is going to make them money. Anything beneath that is usually not in their best interests.

I don't know what type of work you are doing, but, obviously, if your work is not appreciated..perhaps you are in the wrong place? Or the wrong business? Maybe you need to start up your own business! If that is a thought, then maybe it's time you did some research, and get your own spot in the world...

I agree with you.
I know what you mean.I got a promotion some time ago.
I just want my opinion respected and respect for my work.
It seems I am doing everything but being the fun character.
It really helps to read such a motivational comment as your.

I understand feeling like you are not the person that they want on the job. I have some real issues with work right now and I am looking to get into a new job. I don't like my hours, my work, or one of my bosses. I hate going to work and I feel under appreciated when I am there.

You seem a very nice person and very sure of yourself.I sincerely admire you.
Also it is a wise move what you are doing.
I don't have the same option and I really like where I work.People are the issue here.
I was so sure of myself but it seems my self confidence got beaten with a stick out of me for so long that I can't make it come back.
You really helped me with your support.
Thanks a lot.

One of my favorite topics is the science of happiness, which academia calls positive psychology. I love this topic because most of us think of our careers in terms of happiness. That is, we look for work that makes us happy. Positive psychology turns this hunt into a science. And then tells us to look elsewhere for happiness.
I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to focus on optimism and relationships so that we don't feel so much pressure choosing our jobs. To this end, I was excited to see three different introductions to the psychology of happiness in the last month.
This is not small stuff, but it's the stuff that is scientifically proven to lead to a happy life. So when you think about what job to take, realize that this list of things that affect your sense of well-being is not overwhelmingly connected to the idea of doing what you love at work.

Thanks for your answer I am a Psychology graduate so I guess I should know better.
But I live in a country were choosing a job that you like is quite hard.
So maybe it is important for people to feel they have friends who care about them.
And it also important when asking for a helping hand to recive one.
Thanks again.
Your answer means a lot to me.
