Many people want to become their own boss. Before one become a boss, he might work for others, so what kind of professional position has more opportunities to become a boss? Many people tell me that the salesperson is easier to become his own boss. Because if you have customers you can sell products made yourself or bought from a third party, but if you don't have customers you will fail even if you have the best product.
If you are a boss now, please tell me who were you before you became a boss, a salesperson, an engineer, or any others?
If you are going to become a boss, what would you do yourself? Marketing or mastering the technical skills?
If you are not a boss and are not willing to become a boss, then please tell me what the boss , you're most familiar with, did before they became a boss.
Note, here a boss is a founder or co-founder of a company, not a professional manager.

Buddy there is no hard and fast rule for this thing. Any person that has power to influence and ability to lead can become boss. In simple terms boss is one who has the experience, vision and leadership skills. If you want to become boss then you have to prove that you what it takes to be a boss :)

Thanks for your comments first. But I think what you said is likely a job description of high level manager, not an entrepreneur. In this discussion, a boss, what I mean is one who start a company from scratch. For example, Bill Gates is a boss because he is the co-founder of Microsoft, but Jack Welch is not a boss (not the kind I mean) only because GE was not found by him.
