I don’t get it
There’s something that I just don’t understand
about the thinking of friends on the right;
these differences so rampant through our land
often irrupt in vicious verbal fights.
They say they want government to be small
and not to interfere in what we do,
and yet they seem really to want it all
inside our bodies, bedrooms and love true.
They want the government to makes some laws
that disallow a woman’s right to choose,
that choose our marriage partner without pause,
that tell some people when to say “I dos.”
I don’t see how the government’s long arm
is small at all, in fact it’s doing harm.

The "Right" has done an excellent job of demonizing the "Left" for so long that the general public seems to blindly believe the Right's claims that they only want a smaller role for government. With very few exceptions, all anyone in politics can truthfully say is they want a smaller government role in the issues they oppose. If politicians want something done, they always fight for the money and power to get it done.

This has puzzled me also. I guess it comes down to no government interference with the corporations lining their pockets.

Way beyond that. It came down to being accomplices in corporations lining their pockets. They can't even say they were "not interferring".
