Dumas was a master story teller. So many stories and sub-stories, with all that he was able to make a real classic that will be around for 100 more years.
Do you also find this book fascination? The classic natural story telling ability of Dumas, along with Greek classic references, incredible descriptions of events and characters draw me in; I´m only about 20% done with this, but are you (or were you) as captivated with this book as I am now?

I´m glad you find it as fascinating as me. It´s difficult to find someone who like those type of books.
They´re so old, and we all know that the books more asked are the ones that are brand new, modern authors, and adventure writers, as for example the author of Harry Potter, J.K.Rowling, those are the books more succesful.
Cheers

I can't find the original copy of the book, that's why I bought the Count of Monte Cristo "Classic Tales" version— much to my dismay. I didn't know the "Classic Tales" series are meant for children 12 yrs. old and below. I didn't appreciate the story because it was summarized. I have the movie though, but I guess the book is much better.
