the search for a good laptop

hi all, my dad gave me a laptop i think 3-4 years ago and it has now become busted! sadly. i have to replace it. can anyone tell me what are the best kinds of laptops or notebooks out in the market? i had an IBM before and ive searched some things online but dont know what to pick. i liked lenovo though. this is a hard thing for me to choose because when it comes to desktops or laptops' specs. i dont have a clue. so, im hoping mylotters could help me out. im looking for a laptop/notebook that can be used for not very heavy but a lot of storage. used in writing, internet browsing and probably 1 or 2 games to be loaded in it. lol. big storage coz of pictures and some music. my sister has an hp now but i dont want to have the same brand as her if there are much better ones out there
