I live in Australia and there has been over 2000 cases of affirmed swine flu victims and tens of thousands of suspected swine flu victims. Over the news, i have heard that it is less deadly than everyone suspected it to be. This somewhat gave me some security until i recently heard on the news that someone had died from an illness relating to Swine Flu. This concerned me and i'm starting to get paranoid and very hygienic. =S Are you afraid of Swine Flu?

No. It's very low on my list of things to be afraid of. The "regular" flu kills many, many more people than the swine flu each year, and there doesn't seem to be any paranoia about that!

Swine Flu has already infected some of my countrymen. I'm just glad that it's not yet visible in our town. Hopefully it wont arrive here in our city so that the people will not be scared. I think Swine Flue can be prevented if we wash our hands and maintain a clean living in our houses.

Hi Rickiely, actually this swine flu is not as scary as the media reports. As least most sufferers recover within a few days, and they do not suffer as much as other common sickness. Dengue fever and malaria are more terrifying than this swine flu. As long as swine flu does not mutate, and does not combine with another virus to become a fearful strain, there is nothing to fear. Flu does become pneumonia, regardless of swine flu or seasonal flu.

I guess those that are high risk like those that are of old age and their health is not that good anymore are in danger getting this flu. But for those that still are strong and healthy I guess is safe even if infected by the virus. The symptoms they present is similar to the of regular flu and would eventually be cured in time if your immune system is in good working order.

I wouldn't say that I'm afraid of Swine Flu but it is constantly in my mind as it is always on the news and everyday there are new cases being discovered. Still, I hope that we don't get to the stage where it becomes inevitable that we will get swine flu. I suppose I should be more worried than most people as I fall under the most vulnerable category as I have Asthma. If I were to get Swine Flu then thankfully I would be at the top of the priority list in terms of receiving Tammy Flu. Still, the relevant people are working tirelessly in order to come up with some kind of vaccination. Good luck to them and I hope that come up with that real fast. Andrew

Yes Of course, I am afraid to get sick of any kind. We sould be careful so that we won't spread this disease. We can wear mask or avoid crowded areas. If you feel like sick, go to your doctor for a check up. remember, prevention is better than cure.

personally i am not afraid of swine flu. There had been a small amount of cases reported in my state (GO MAINE!!!!!) but this does not threaten me. alot of people dont understand that only a small percentage of people with swine flu pass away. My opinion is that they blew the swine flu thing way out of perportion to scare people. once again i dont know this for a fact but is my thoughts on the whole deal. Then again i personally do not know any who even has family affected by the swine flu, and havent heard of anyone in my area who has it..

No, I am not afraid. It should not take pandemic to get people to watch whom and what they touch. People should be clean even if there is no threat spreading across the world.

Yes definitely Swine Flu or A(H1N1) as they called really alarmed me. Before there are no cases of swine flu here in the Philippines but now there are already numbers of cases. And i am glad that Department of Health here are doing their best to cope up with this problem. I am just hoping that this virus will be stop already because sometimes i cant go in many people because i am really afraid that i will be victim of it. I hope no more people around the world will be die because of this virus. Just be careful with our own self and be educate how swine flu can be prevented. Thanks for the discussion rickiely =)
