Food shortages have occurred throughout history. And they will happen again. I doubt that we will have one this year, but it would be a good idea to check our eating habits and see where we can help. I don't think any laws should be passed regarding how to use your food, it should be a personal choice. For instance, see this new article: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=101581 Maybe next time you are tempted to over eat or pitch your left over food you should think about this. What do you guys think?

i would hate to see this happen. cause i am very much unprepared. and with my family not that helpful to me in many ways, i mean they have their own ways to live life. and for sure their ideas of survival is much different from me. and i have no one to help me at home to save money and food. i will be all alone at home to make sure that there i save food.

I surfed you given link just now and the writing article title - New forecast: 'Mass starvation'. That is why I started my home hydrophonics technique of cultivation many types of vegetables such sprout bean, spinach, small tomato, and others by using Tube Culture - Figure 6. - Ref: Home Hydroponics http://pubs.ext.vt.edu/426/426-084/426-084.html Your good point of discussion with the shared URL links, at least members can start thinking about world food commodities is running out of adequate sources and it needs personal attention and action. World population is increasing because of high birth rate and low mortality rate; while foods supply is not increasing.
