Well when I was younger my little sister was the one who haad this problem and as children my brother and I was were the ones who would benefit as we fought for her left overs.Litte did I know that afast forward a few years and I would be the one who would have difficulty eating all of my food at once. Yes it now seems that I can rarely eat of all thats on my plate at once, dont know if its some kind of medical condition or something but it seem as if no matter how hungry I am ,teh minute i see the food I cant eat it off at once and often I have to leave some over for later .Sometimes later is maybe half an hour or an hour later . Does anyone else have this problem or is it only me?

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji, Why not food is taken by any individual what one can take easily. Take little little at number of times. I think, you may be allergic to look at heap of food. May God bless You and have a great time.

I used to have this problem also when I was younger. someone else would be fixing my plate though. I either did not like what was on my plate or could not eat it all. I only put what I know I will eat, on my plate now though.

That is never a problem for me.Because I use to fill my plate little by little and stop once I feel enough. We need not be greedy to fill the plate with our favorite items and then struggle hard to eat everything.Even if there are some medicinal important dishes to consume take it as a snacks before the direct meals plate.Cheers!

If someone is serving my plate then I probably can not eat everything that is on it as I am a very small eater so what I can not finish I just have to push it away to avoid getting ill. However, when I am serving a meal and serving my plate then yes I can eat all that is on it because I serve myself very small portions and if I am still hungry I can always go back because there is never a time that I cook that there is not enough for seconds and thirds and usually fourths! Good Luck with your problem and if it persists then I would suggest you see a doctor.

yes sometimes i do find it difficult to eat everything on my plate, sometimes i do get deceived by my stomach especially when it looks as if i have nothing in it but at the end of the eating, i get filled up easily and i do wonder how that happens and after some few hours i may likely feel hungry again

Shouldn't you be checking it out with the doctor? I normally help myself to as much as I would need for a meal. Yours could hopefully be just a gastric problem which with a little medication get you well. Such matters should not be taken into our own hands. Get well soon.

not to be flip to make light of your situation but i have the exact opposite problem. i eat too much and i know it. it is an ongoing battle for me and i have lost 16 lbs over the last 6 months by exercising as often as i can and eating less on some days when i am not particularly hungry for whatever reason. i just go with it because there are days i do eat way too much. yesterday was one of those days so today i have to make a concerted effort to eat lightly so i do not gain any of the weight back that i worked so hard to lose. i can gain weight very easily so i have to be careful and i have alot more weight to lose.

isn't this like a how long is a piece of string question...surely it depends on how much is on your plate? From a biological point of view, your stomach is the size of your cupped hands and it takes approximately 2 hours to digest this size portion. But you can eat this portion every two hours to maintain a healthy metabolism etc. So if you're eating more than this in one sitting it's no wonder you're full! It's extremely common that people eat 3 or as little as 2 meals per day which end up being enormous - 3 and 4 times the portion size they should be eating - and this stretches the stomach so it eventually takes more to fill the individual. The fact is, if they spread that food out over the course of the day it would be far better for their health and metabolism...that is of course assuming they have a balanced diet.

I can’t eat huge amounts all at once and I feel more comfortable consuming around six to eight small meals day. I don’t know why it is so; maybe I have a particularly small stomach or something like that. I did read somewhere that is actually healthier to eat small snacks in comparison to bigger meals. There may be different reasons why you are getting full so quickly; I would suggest a check up if you are concerned but you might just be a small eater.

I believe the problem is not about the food but your appetite. How often have you skipped meals in a day? It affects your body when you rarely eat and you feel a bit stuffed all the time although you haven't eaten anything on that day. You need to consult a doctor for appetite boosting vitamins and take it for a month and your appetite will improve. I used to be like that, I only eat a little in every meal and when it changed I go for second round now, lol... my body has gained enough meat or muscle unlike before.

hi ronnyb... i would say that this is not a physical problem it is a psychological problem.....when you where a small kid your eat how much you can.....but as you grow...your hunger increases but your appetite remains the same....you will feel more hungry because you work more but your stomach can accommodate food as per your appetite......so you will find that you see a big burger and feel that you can finish it all alone when you return from your work...because hunger stop some section of brain which says that you cannot have that huge burger......but when you actually start eating it and your hunger subsides you came to know that you cannot finish it alone.......so you eat it after sometime......this has happened with many times......

i think youre normal [= hahaha...id say i have the same problem too...or used to...when i eat, i usually just put enough on my plate so that i can finish what's in it at that given meal time. so i basically just limit how much food i put into my plate so i can finish what's in it...but yea...typically when i go out to eat at a restaurant, i can never finish my food...no matter how empty of a stomach i have prior to entering the restaurant -_- lol happy eating [=

Nope. I usually finish what is on my plate. I only have one big meal a day so when I am hungry, I am hungry. The exception is Freschetta pizza. I heat it and eat only half and leave the other half for the next day.

As long as you eat what you need than that should be enough,if it hurts or you get indigestion from a small amount of food then see your doctor,as I have got older my appetite has got smaller that is fine as long as you eat three times a day.I used to eat a three course meal then dance all night most of my friends could not even move.Sometimes six small meals are better than three massive ones ,If you get any discomfort at all seek medical advise it is alright mate your getting older thats all just like the rest of us.Take care.xx

Don't put too much food on your plate at a time, take a little first and see how much you can eat after you eat them, if the matter is not the amount of food, if it's just a habit to leave something on your plate, i suggest trying to stop it. But i suggest try to eat at least something and don't eat randomly, eat regularly.

I still do up to now. It's like I am doomed to eat really slowly as I tend to get full really fast. I take time eating my meals to finish them off.
