h savypat,
I am really surprised that two hours of powercut got you thinking. Good thing you are not from India otherwise a powercut of 3 to 4 hours is a normal routine and in summers it can stretch to 12 hours also. Most homes in Delhi have their inverters ( in case you dont know it is battery powered devise which functions as your power plant. So when power comes its batteries charge up ..just like laptop but in most homes u can run fans light but not Air conditioning on it.) or people have generators. so i wish i was in your place.

Thanks arteazabache for responding on my response but it was couple of years ago now situation is much better atlast in Delhi. We didnt have a power cut for more than 10 mins for whole of last year leave apart those time when they were repairing and you get population not bu electricity in wires but by having it inside you.

Hi Savypat, When are power goes out here if it's not back on in 2 hours then it's out for days. It makes it hard to catch up on things around here. It seems like everything piles up. The boys play in the snow come in and change five or more times because there cold and wet. A mothers job is never done.

It is a regular happening in my place. Sometimes it last for few hours and when the power supply is off life seems to come to a standstill. The hot weather outside makes situation worse with the unbearable heat and staying indoors makes me feel like I am being roasted in the oven. It is really hot, not even the slight breeze outside can give a little comfort.

It just depends on my energy levels and how long the interruption lasts. Most times, if I can't get back on track, I just pick up the slack the next day.

Normally in USA power cuts are rare. If some thing comes it comes for a longer time. I have heard of power cuts for one full day or two days some time back in New York. People had a tough time - it was winter. managing cold. making food etc. They rushed to another place in NY where power was there. In such situations, we have to manage with wherever we are put in. What cannot be cured has to be endured.
of course after the power comes we have to manage our routine.
While staying in Delhi 1990s --I use to get irritated to the power cuts for longer time mostly regularly. Students will find it difficult to read in the nights. In summer it u
have a good day

If and when anything interrupts my day, I can usually pick up where i left off, but if the power goes out i usually do something that don't require power, like dust, clear away the cob webs or homework.
