This is my recipe that I was taught long time ago. I thought I would make this again has been over a couple years since I have made it, but I order it almost everytime when I go out for Thai. This is How I make it at Radio Mancave.
Som Tom (Thai Green Papaya Salad)
Take one green papaya skin it and then use a cheese slicer or other device and shred the green papaya in long strands the complete lengrh of the papaya. Note if you get too deep the salad will not be as pleasant. I like to take it to about an 1/8 inch before you get to the seed pod. Place the shredded papaya into a large mixing bowl. Crush three hot chillies add to papaya I tablespoon sugar, quarter two good size ripe tomatoes add sll to papaya mix, with about 4 tablespoons of fish sauce and sqeeze one lime over mix and blend all thoroughly. Serve with sticky rice and fresh sliced cucumber. This How I do it at Radio Mancave. It is design to be hot if not hot enough add some more chilies.
