What first comes to your mind when some says "Mexican"?

Hello again. Well, the main reason why I decided to post this new discussion is because today I was talkin' to some friends, and something they said reminded me when I used to live in the US (I'm mexican by the way, just for the record), and when I went to school there for the first time, I remember stepping inside this "Current World Issues" class, and this student made this comment I found kind of funny. He said: "I was hoping you guys came here dressed in giant ponchos and sombreros (because I was in this exchange program with some other fellows, and I had this class with another student from this program)". Nevermind, I was kinda baffled by his comment (not insulted, just seemed weird at the time), and I started hangin' out with other guys from the school and found out some kids even though that in Mexico we didn't have TVs or any sign of modern technology. So I just want to ask (non-mexican people, because they already know how Mexico is), what is the first image your brain recieves when the word "Mexican" comes to your mind? Honestly, I am just plain curious.

Hello Soul_Hunter , the first thing I think of is Mexican Food when I hear Mexican". I had pollo fundido this evening from my favorite Mexican Resraurant.The next thing when I hear Mexican is Carlos V the candy. So mainly I think of food when the word Mexican is said.

I know.. people form opinions from reading books and watching movies about other cultures.i love mexican culture because they value relations so much just like us.i respect that a lot.that is what comes to my mind when i think about them.they are also hard workers.
