No, I don't go to church any longer. I'm Catholic and believe in God, but have not been able to find a good church. When I was younger, I went to a specific church and went to a Catholic school that was assiocated with it. However, once I could no longer attend, they started to act like they didn't want me and my mother there. As we don't have a car, it's hard for us to travel.

Hi smartie, if you feel like you don't belong in your church, I guess it's better to find another one that is near to your house.
Yeah, it feels good after going to church.

I used to go to church every Sunday.
Until I got kicked out.
I still believe in God and have found out that good people are
not only in a church.
I have met more real believers outside of church than in the church.
I guess that is where the saying comes from:"The first will be last, and
the last will be first."
I am happy I got the chance to learn that.
It has taught me to see things more realistic and that is why I
try to respect people the way they are, with or without religion.

Trying to keep a long story short:
I was baptized in a Baptist church, and it was like I had woken up.
I had been married for 9 years. Being mentally abused and later in other ways
abused too. No one knew of course.
Well one day I opened my Bible just opened it and came to the page that said
divorce is not a good thing. Then as if I were being directed, I closed my bible and
automatically opened it again. I came to where it says: "Without Love, you have nothing..."
This was my sign to leave, as if I had gotten permission.
I got the strength to leave and found out that life was more than just church.
God is everywhere.
When I let people know I was going for a divorce, they kicked me out of church.
At the same time they prayed that the devil would leave me. My children where there
too. They were so scared of me. It hurt. Who were they to judge me?
They knew nothing about me.
If there were a devil in me, that would mean the priest put it there when he baptized me. hahaha! I told him this too, he was not impressed.
The church did not even last another year. They destroyed themselves.
I believe when people hurt you, like they hurt me, they will be punished. Not by me.
Looking back, I realize everything has a reason. I am glad that happened.
It made me the person I am today.
"God helps those who help themselves."

I can't beleive your church did that. They should have helped youto be free from the abuse. Maybe that wasn't a good church after all or maybe theier doctrine is not a real one or what. I am a Baptist and I am proud to say that my church is wealthy and well managed by God. Thank you for sharing yopur story MArgaJoe.
One day, God will lead you to church where you can be happy forever.

I am a Roman Catholic and brought up very loyal to my religion. I adheres to all the teachings of the Catholic church and recognized the beloved Pope as Vicar of Jesus Christ in this world. My father is serving the Catholic church as a Eucharist minister long before I was born, at the age of 71 he is still active in the church service with his only brother.
I never missed Sunday masses even if I am ill I make it a point to attend the mass because it is very necessary. I feel more sickly and problematic if I cannot attend the Sunday mass and other important Catholic obligations.

That's really nice to hear from you. We have to feed our body as well as our soul.

I was raised as a Methodist. Most of my family are Methodists, though my aunt, who married in, is Catholic. I went to Sunday school every Sunday until I was confirmed. My mother taught Sunday school, ran the nursery, and did all sorts of other stuff around the church. After I was confirmed though we both stopped going. I was never religious, at least not in the Christian sense, so I stopped going as soon as I could. My mother lost her faith, if she really had any, years ago. Currently I'm agnostic. I think we're all connected and there may be some other sort of higher power, but I don't think it's "God."
