I have noticed lately that there is a lot of spelling and grammar errors, not only here in mylot but all over the internet. Sometimes it get so bad I think that the people who wrote the words were kids. A lot of people have been asking how to increase there google adsense accounts and one of the best ways is to make sure that you have proper grammar and spelling. This makes it easier when googles bot tries to index your web site, also if there are too many grammatical mistakes the website wont be indexed. So come on if you cant seem to figure out why you are not making money off of adsense then you should do a reevaluation of your site. Also remember that by using more Search engine optimization words will also help to get your website indexed faster.

hi tosha33, i have to agree with you. at the same time it's not right to judge someone in mylot. friends here are trying to make some money. they may be fast in typing and make some errors. if you're taking count of other sites then i purely agree with you. good on you to have this concerns!

You are right about there being lots of grammatical mistakes made, I'm actually taking a class for English for the professional and I have found tons of grammar facts that i did not know, in business Internet is supposed to be capitalized, and i never thought about things like this is how you are supposed to write "all of the girls' books were pink", and I think the Internet had a role in my mis-education and misunderstanding of grammar and English

Typos are unavoidable, but some people still use the SMS language on the internet, and at places where it is not supposed to be used. It's sad that more and more people are doing this and as a consequence others are getting affected. For example, some sites which used to encourage writers like Helium.com have closed their site for writers from non English speaking countries and the reason they give is that their content quality is going down because of writers from non English speaking countries. I think it's about time people pulled up their socks to improve their writing skills.

I've been guilty of this as well. Usually, it occurs on my blog when I've been writing an article for some bit of time and just can't see my errors. I'm trying to get into the habit of going back and editing my articles after a period of time.
Unfortunately, you can't do this with others who publish your work. Sometimes, I get a bit upset with myself when I find a published piece with an error or just plain awkward writing in it.
It also happens here on Mylot, because sometimes the style of communications is more casual and I get a bit careless.

Yes, actually there are so many grammatical and spelling errors here...And i am guilty with that...The main reason for me it that i usually do not double check the things that i have written, so i commit those errors.

sometimes its typograpical errors, and sometimes they did not double check the spelling because. and sometimes people here of different nation they dont care about their grammar as long a you understand what you're talking about or your point and its ok with some people. if you're asking me about grammars well i dont care as long as i get his point no matter how hard to understand his words well its ok with but much better if we continue learning to speak , write or to improve our english grammar.

I think the biggest problem with errors is that it takes away from the credibility of the author. I would not be likely to trust a source for information when the person can't even spell common words correctly.
The internet perpetuates the problem of poor grammar and spelling because after seeing a particular mistake so many times, people start to think it's correct. A good example is using an apostrophe for plural words. Plural words don't require apostrophes, contractions and possessive words do.
In an informal forum such as here at mylot, I try to be forgiving of minor mistakes. I have made them, and even you have made them- there are several in your post. But as long as the meaning gets through, it doesn't bother me much.

Sometimes I think a person's mind seems to work faster than their fingers and so many make simple spelling errors, grammatical errors, etc.
Although, one thing that bugs me is the use of abbreviations when the whole word could easily be typed out (i.e. ur, u, etc.).

Well, we obviously can't edit our posts, so once you hit the submit button, its too late to make the necessary changes. Fast typists usually commit typographical errors, no one is perfect on spelling coz the textbox has no built-in spell check feature. Only those who reached 500 posts can copy paste their pre-made discussions on word processors. About the grammar usage, there's a chance that we are trying to edit our works but its harder when we're making a quota in a day. Like me, I don't spend my whole day in mylot and I don't skim much before I submit. Some of us don't use english everyday and as long as I understand what they're saying I don't mind.

i think the reason for word and grammatical blunders on mylot is because people want to post or respond to as many discussions as possible and in so doing they tend to write a lot of things which often result in grammatical and spelling errors, i cant actually blame them its just the need to make extra cents
