Would you steal to feed your family?

The question on killing your pets to feed your hungry family inspired me to ask this question...would you steal vegetables from an allotment to feed your family?...theres not much in the cupboard, you have no pets to kill!! and theres an allotment full of 40 different mature and fruitful allotments just up your road...its quiet at night and no security or cameras...just a gate to jump over...what would you do?

I don't think I would steal to feed my family, but one never knows until actually faced with a situation. I would try instead to find ways to trade, find (dumpsters?) or even beg food first. Wild food is often available, although the variety is limited in most areas, it would keep one from starving.
