Do you turn down your music to keep from annoying others in the house?

hi i sing along with the music played. i would love to scream and sing. i live in an apartment. that really bothers me. Even my family members would think that i m a nut. i m always conscious about it. but nowadays i do not care. i sing, scream. play music loud. nothing can stop me from being ME. lol :)

of course i do that but it is a pity that the people around me do not extend the same gesture to me, all they want to do is play their lousy music and take the volume to the highest, sometimes i wonder why people do that and they don't even consider that others are affected by their behaviour,maybe next time i take the volume of my music to the highest too

Since I live alone now, I don't have to worry about that, but when my daughter lived here, we used to both keep our music and any other noise low, or only listen when the other was out. It took awhile for her to get the idea, though.

Hello beauty queen. It made me smile when you say that it was none of her business what you were listening to anyway, as long as you were home. Because the same words sometimes come from my rebellious teen son when we ask him not to do something that is not so helpful. Then he would say, "It is none of your business, Mom". He usually says so to his mom though. Well, let's get to the point of the topic. Usually if all of the family love to listen to the music being played, it is ok to turn it up, but if one gets annoyed, then we turn it down a little bit. Take care, friend.

I usually listen to music with head phones in the office where there is need of silence. At home I volume it down for ambient mode not to cause loud noise in the house.

it depends on my mood. if i have bad mood, i will play it very hard. i don't care what other say. i like rock music. it's very peacefull

I like to listen to my music with headphones on to drown out background noise. My husband is going deaf, and likes to have the TV up really loud, and I, on the other hand, am legally blind with super sensitive hearing, and can't take the noise, so I like music with headphones to drown it out.

I never have mine too loud because I live in an upstairs flat above a guy who works shift work, so I know that whatever time of day or evening it is, he could be trying to sleep. It puts me off my computer work also, when it's loud, so I just tend to have it as a low, background music. Brightest Blessings.

I always have my headphones on when I have people at home. Both my mom and dad are working. So When they are not home, I use the speakers, but when they are at home, I prefer to use headphones cos the music that I listen to, doesn't gel with their interests. In fact it's nice to listen to music on personal players because you get to enjoy the music properly. If I'm not using headphones, then I make sure that the door is closed and only some sound can go out of my room. They usually ask me to lower the volume, but I just close the door hard and make sure that less sounds escapes. bourne

[b]I've always been courteous about not playing loud music when I'm somewhere someone will be annoyed by it. And by the way, it certainly was your mom's business. She fed you, clothed you, paid for a place for you to live--& shared it with you, & she had a legal responsibility for you, as well. Some music is very unhealthy for some ages, & she had every right to try to fight your brain being corrupted, for your own good. Now that you're grown, you can do whatever you like, but when you're under your parents' care, they have all the rights to keep you healthy, safe, & sane. If you (or your wife) are still annoying folks with loud TVs or music, get one of those "TV Ears," or some other form of quiet listening device. It's the courteous thing to do. Maggiepie[/b]

Hi there beauty queen. I live with my parents, but i generally listen to music at a low level... i usually stay on the laptop, so no matter how high i raise the volume it is still not to loud. I only sometimes listen to music a little louder than normal, but even then, it doesn't bother my parents as i generally put some music that they also like or at least tolerate.

I don't like loud music, but normally I'd rather move away. I don't like to give others feeling that I am not easy to cooperate with.

I am sharing the house with my friends and each of us rented a room, so whenever i want listen to the music or watch the movie, i'll try to be as considerate as i can. If they not around, so i'll increase the volume and will try to turn the volume down whenever they are in the house.

music can calm down people's expression, listening it can feel better. but somebody are doing something when i turn on the music too loud ,mybe you can see that the sound can interupt somebody,they seemed very angryat like that.we need quite life in family and know each other, making a living feel better. so when they think that the music is so loud can annoying others in the house ,i can turn the volume down

Buy yourself a decent set of headphones, you and your daughter will not regret it I assure you. I listen to quite a lot of music, so I think it would be unfair on my neighbours if I was playing loud music all the time, not that I am saying you do this. Sometime I like to play my music on the speakers, like on a nice day or when I have a few friends over.

No I don't because there are doors for every room so if hubby didn't want to hear my music then he could close the door. lol Besides, as long as I have my hearing aids on, I don't turn it up too loud and if I wanted it louder, I'd turn my aids up. lol There are SOME advantages to being hearing impaired! LMBO!! My brother says he envies me because I sleep like a baby even with so much noise because he wakes up at the sound of a pin drop.

Three of us in the house are up during the day, the other goes to bed around 11 Am, or sometimes a little later. We have to be courteous, lol, especially since this person works night shift... and pays for our food, lol. It's mostly quiet here during the day, but sometimes it's not. We turn down music, and t.v. to be courteous to one another. Although there are times we annoy each other. Growing up, the t.v. seemed to always be loud, whether at my mom's or my grandparents, the t.v. was always blaring and in competition with the fans, or other t.v's throughout the house.

Back in high school I would always turned up the volume to the maximum and let the woofer blows as hard as it can.I love loud music and even at midnight I would be letting it off at the max.I think it annoyed my neighbours but I did not care that time and I was doing it on my demand.Until a certain age when I entered University I started to dislike loud noises and slowly integrate to slower musics and lower volumes.It is a good thing since I can now save my ear drums from blowing off.

When I was a teenager, I was constantly being told to turn my stereo down. I try not to listen to it as loud as I did back then because I don't want to lose my hearing. It runs on my mother's side of the family to get hard of hearing the older you get, too. I live by myself now so I don't have to be concerned about whether I'm disturbing anybody else or not. I do turn it down if I think it's a little too loud, though. Kathy.

I simply use my ipod, before I use to have problems with everyone else, but now I go away from them and put in my headphones.
