This is taken from "Haaretz"
"Some 100 people gathered together on Sunday Jun 21 for the 3rd annual Jerusalem hug, aimed at bringing people together of all denominations and filling the city with love.
The event, which last year brought 2000 international peace activists to the capital was organized by "Lovers of Jerusalem" movement. The group considers the city to be "the center of the worlds heart"
"We strive to strengthen the frequency of joy and unity among all created creatures, and when we do it at the center of the worlds heart, that frequency spreads from the central heart to all human hearts," the organizations Web site said.
Event organizers, called out to "people from different religions, nations and countries to come and unite in a cry of mutual love around Jerusalem's Old City.
"The Jerusalem hug is a hug for life, the Jerusalem hug is a hug to all people"
"The Jerusalem hug is a hug to all mankind," according to the Web site added. Interested participants who could not come to Jerusalem in person also had the option to send a "virtual hug" through the organizations web site.
Can someone please explain . . Why isnt this story making front page news today?

It is a nice effort of this organization to create peace by just a simple gesture of hugging. nice concept especially they are doing this in the most volatile place on the globe. I do hope they could continue this celebration since though it is just a symbolic gesture they are doing this, it creates an infectious effect to those that are trying to destroy peace.
Why this does not go out in the frontpages, well I guess the story is not that controversial that most media men think would not sell to the public.

Yeah it is a big gesture and simple message that a simple hug can do and send a message of peace to everyone in that place of conflict. It is just ironic, now that is not recommended for us in our place since there is a flu going around our place and hugging is just not recommended since it could transmit the virus around says our health officials. It is sad that this virus stopped this kind of gestures being practiced to avoid getting infected.
