Bugs on my roses!! What ARE they??

I wish I had a picture to show you. I'm new to gardening, and I don't have much room to do it, so I buy a lot of miniature flowers in pots meant for indoor raising.
Recently I bought some Victory Roses, miniature, and very quickly after I got them home, the leaves and blossoms began to dry up, rot, and fall off. I couldn't understand it. Then one day I found little white pinpricks sticking up out of the soil. Then, one day, it was absolutely covered--CROWDED--with these little bugs that looked just like daddy longlegs spiders! I knew the thing was totally dead by then, and I was so utterly creeped out that I just had to throw it out.
I've had some bad luck with pests on my flowers, and I know the nursery they come from must therefore be highly suspect. Does anyone know what these bugs are, and how to best get rid of them? Do you know if I can still buy from the same place, but treat the plant before they hatch? I have the heebie jeebies!!

They might be aphids, a good and organic idea for you to get rid of them would be to go and buy a bunch of ladybugs and realize them into your garden because if the pests (whatever they are) are so small, then the ladybugs should be able to eat them and help your garden thrive

OH BOY!i am pretty sure that they are alphids.they look like small white bugs but before u see them they will grow like thousands.they are pretty hard to get rid of.if ur plant is outdoor then u can just forcely spray water on them so that they will fall off.this works but they are coming back(i have this problem for my roses).so now i am using this: take one tea spoon of baking soda with one quart of water and mix them well.after almost filling up the bottle add little soap so that the solution wont be all bubbles and makes it difficult.and spray this.with soap the solution sticks to the leaves.this is what iam doing for all my plants.very very economical and easy to use.hope this helps.all the best.

Thanks so much for your advice! I'll definitely look into that. Anything that keeps pests from sticking to my plants is a good idea.
I had a spider nearby on another indoor plant, and the day before, I was going to kill it, but I let it live. Now I am SO glad I did. x_x

Are they microscopic size spiders or big ones? Might be a baby spiders nest too... or could be a plant mite if they are really tiny.. You should put a couple of them into a bag and take them to the nursey and ask them. Next time if that happens put the place into a big bag and take it to the nusery and ask them to look at it mostp lant nurseries know its bad business to sell plants with bugs infecting them and if their plants were infected.. sometimes they will refund you the cost, or give you a new plant that is not infect... I am sorry to hear this happened though.
But it could also be the ground where you planted it too.. like a spiders nest you were not aware of.. - DNatureofDTrain
